Official Day of Mourning the Demise of the Dreamin Demon

I know I'm going to be really sad when Morbid turns off the
lights and locks those virtual doors and I know many of you will
be mourning right along with me. So I thought this could be the
day we throw out old memories (good and bad) and re-live it's
heyday. :'( We will do this on January 31st as I do believe
that's the day Morbid is throwing us out.

I discovered the DD during the ‘love & decomp’ days of Casey
Anthony & spent the next decade there, posting, updating &
comiserating mostly in the crimes against children section.
It was such a great forum w an awesome group of folks, I hate to
see it go but hope the spirit of the DD will live on here! :-*

I don't remember exactly when I found D'D, but I remember I was
looking for a cat so I can localize it to a span of about three
months in 2007.

I haunted DD for a good 5 or 6 years before I finally made an
account. It's been my first source of news in the morning, a
part of my daily schedule....I'm definately going to miss it.
But, at least I can come here! I usually don't read the child
abuse stories because they fuck me up for days. But I do skip to
the comments and some of you have helped restore my faith in
humanity a bit.

I lurked silently during the Caylee Anthony case. I was
basically a kid. Don't even remember if I was legal age yet or
not. But I remember being so horrified by that case and all of
the people on the site helped me make sense of it. Because as a
kid, all I could think was that mom's are supposed to be your
biggest protectors and biggest cheerleaders and how could a mom
do something like that?
I still say the Bitch is guilty as sin. I don't even want to
type her name. And you're right, there were so many amazing
people around back then. Even Morbid was more active on the
site. Getting into the threads and everything. The site made me
realize that that are so many horrible things in the world, but
there are just as many loving and great people who fight against
the darkness and to never lose hope.
I'm going to miss the site terribly but I am hoping that since
the heart and soul of the DD are here (the people) that it's
spirit will live on and thrive. :-*

Damn. I'm glad we have this site now, but the DD has been a HUGE
part of all our lives. All of my adult life so far. I still
can't believe it's just ending.
