Considering the fact that his parents heard him scream as he
fell, but no other sounds have been reported (IIRC), the well is
only 10 inches wide - meaning he would have hit the bottom from
a height of 360 feet on his feet/legs, and it's been more than
10 days without food or water (unless he landed in some water at
the bottom of the well) - this, very sadly is no longer what EMS
crews would call a "rescue" effort, but is most probably now
only a "recovery" effort.
The child may have hit water at the bottom and drowned, or
suffered severe bone shattering injuries to his legs or possibly
even head injuries - the fact that they've not heard him at all
from the beginning of the rescue is something that every rescue
worker there has probably kept in the back of their minds from
the beginning of their efforts.
What you absolutely want in these types of situations is to hear
the child, even if they're screaming in pain - and I know how
awful that sounds, but it means they are alive and conscious,
which is a most glorious and hopeful sign that you can
communicate with them, drop down water, foods, and even
emergency mylar thermal blankets for protection against the
cold/shock.
I pray (yes, Siobhan does pray, just not for herself) with every
ounce of my being that I am wrong here, and that at any moment
they'll reach this little boy *alive*, and even if he's injured
that those injuries are both survivable and recoverable so that
he may live a long life.

this imo as stated elsewhere on DD was murder. The hole was too
small for a toddler to fall down but big enough to pick up and
toss into like a chute. You watch little kids and tell me how
many could manage a both foot jump to actually go into a hole
like that 12/18" around? wouldn't happen the candy wrapper are
suspicious too, like they were dropped in as an after thought
for "evidence"? how would he have been able to open candy on the
way down or have in his hands without catching himself before
even up to hs butt in a hole like that. The second child of
theirs dead in a freak accident doesn't pay well either. Am
wondering what kind of insurance policies they had on the family

I tend to agree with you, but the older brother died from
cardiac issues. I believe I read it was an undiagnosed condition
that cause his little heart attack while he was walking on the
beach. Just going on memory and an utter lack of sleep here...
I might be totally wrong.
