This van Persie thing seems to be a done deal according to all
the press reports, I'm really not sure about this deal. It
smacks of another Berbatov, a highly rated older striker from a
North London club going into a United side which has no pressing
need for him who ends up getting shoved out because of younger
players who Ferguson is trying to develop.
It is ludicrous that Ferguson continues to neglect the midfield,
and the loan of Fabio makes no sense whatsoever given our lack
of depth in that position.

I don't think it's true, the neglect he is showing to the
midfield is ludicrous though.

And yes it is. Saying that, other than about 4 players his
central midfield signings over his career range from "Flop" to
"Disaster"
Anderson
Kleberson
Miller
Djemba Djemba
Hargreaves
Veron
In the last decade or so. Perhaps he's just shit scared of
buying a central midfielder because the ones he buys are all
shite, and if he did dive into the market for a midfielder he'd
end up making Dalglish-esque signings. After all, he did rate
Charlie Adam's set piece delivery alone at £10m.

I really doubt that would happen. If you guys signed RVP, him
and Rooney would be deadly.

I reckon it would harm both players, both of them are used to
being the main man at their own club, they're not going to do as
well as a partnership. It's a hell of a back-up option if
Rooney goes down with injury of course, but we already have
pretty reasonable back-up in that area, we have none at left
back or DM.
