Pokemon Battle Royale- Signups!
By: Vablakes Date: July 15, 2013, 6:21 am
---------------------------------------------------------
The goal of Battle Royale is to form the most effective team of
Pokemon and be the last man standing. This is done by capturing,
releasing, or training your Pokemon, and travelling to different
locations.
Quick list of things I changed for those of you who have played
before:
Nerfed Metal
Changed up the capturable Pokemon
Added the "Confusion" special condition. (See: Battle Phase)
Removed teams
GAME START
Each player will be randomly assigned a starting Pokemon (and
corresponding stats).
BUILD-UP PHASE
Each phase, players have the opportunity to submit 10 actions -
they must all be taken at once. Before posting, players will
need to post their current location and Team(to make things
easier for me). There will be several build-up phases before the
battle phases begin.
CAPTURE
This action is performed by typing "CAPTURE" on a separate line.
You will automatically capture a Pokemon in your current
location (if you have less than 6 Pokemon in your party). Rarity
and luck will determine which Pokemon gets added to your party.
RELEASE
This action is performed by typing "RELEASE *Pokemon*" on a
separate line. This will free up one space in your party.
Junipers PC-
This action is performed by typing "STORE *Pokemon*" or
"WITHDRAW *Pokemon*" on a separate line. STORE allows you to
STORE a Pokemon into Reed's PC. WITHDRAW allows you to WITHDRAW
a Pokemon into Junipers PC.
There is a storage limit of THREE Pokemon in Junipers PC.
You must have a spot in your party to WITHDRAW a Pokemon and a
spot in your PC to STORE a Pokemon in Junipers PC.
In the event your party and PC are full you may use an action a
WITHDRAW action and a STORE action back to back to effectively
switch two Pokemon to/from your Party and PC.
You may only bring 6 Pokemon into the Battle Phase
TRADING
This action is performed by typing "TRADE my *Pokemon*" with
*Trainer's* *Pokemon*" while in The City on a separate line.
For Example- TRADE my Pikachu for Cabd's Zapdos
Both Trainers must post their TRADE action during the same Build
Up phase.
Both Trainers must be in The City at some point of the Build Up
phase to trade.
Pokemon being traded must be in The Party (Not the PC).
Trading with your fellow team members does not cost an action.
TRAINING
This action is performed by typing "TRAIN *Pokemon* *Stat*" on a
separate line. You may select one of the following stats to
increase:
HP: +2
Attack: +1
That Pokemon's level is automatically increased by 1. If that
Pokemon reaches a target level, it will evolve. Only Pokemon in
a player's party at the beginning of the build-up phase may be
trained (not new captures).
B-Button- If you do not want your Pokémon to evolve you may add
the phrase B-Button after any TRAIN action to prevent evolution,
however if you do, you will not get the stat boost that comes
with evolution.
ABILITIES
Every Pokemon has an Ability. Unless a Pokemon has a Special
Ability its Ability is based on their type. If a Pokemon has a
Special Ability it does not have its Normal Type Based Ability.
See Post 5 for a list of Abilities.
TRAVEL
This action is performed by typing "TRAVEL *Location*". Any
actions following this will be taken at the new location.
ITEMS
This action is performed by typing "OBTAIN" while in The City.
You will automatically OBTAIN and item. Rarity and luck will
determine which Item gets added to your inventory. There is no
limit on how many items you can hold. Items can only be obtained
while in The City
See post 3 for more information about items.
ITEM TRADING
Items may not be given; they must be traded at on a minimum for
a 1 for 1 basis.
Either side of the transaction may contain more or less items
then the other side of the transaction.
This action is performed by typing "TRADE my *ITEM*" with
*Trainer's* *Item X, Item Y and Item Z*" while in The City on a
separate line.
For Example- TRADE my Root Fossil for Cabd's Repel, Great Ball
and Soft Sand
Both Trainers must post their TRADE action during the same Build
Up phase.
Both Trainers must be in The City at some point of the Build Up
phase to trade.
Pokemon being traded must be in The Party (Not the PC).
Locations:
Special Locations
The City
Home to the Pokemon Department Store, Pokemon Trading Center,
the Game Corner, the Pokemon Museum and an area set aside for
Training Pokemon, The City is a booming high tech metropolis in
the Region. The City is the starting point for all trainers in
the region.
You can not Capture Pokemon in The City.
The 2nd to last Build Up Phase will take place in The City.
During this phase all trainers will start in The City, all
Withdraws/Store/Trading Actions during this phase are Free, this
will be your last chance to perform any of these actions.
Traveling/Capturing actions are forbidden.
Victory Road
Victory Road is the last stop for trainers on the way to Battle
Royale Arena, this area is the known to be a very popular place
for trainers to do last minute training before entering the
Arena.
The final Build Up Phase will take place on Victory Road. All
Withdraws/Store/Trading Actions/Traveling/Capturing actions are
forbidden.
During the Build Up Phase on Victory Road, all TRAIN action give
double stats (4 HP or 2 ATK)
Type Training Academy
In addition to TRAIN-HP and TRAIN-ATK, while at the Type
Training Academy, you may now TRAIN-TYPE. This action is
performed by typing "TRAIN *Pokemon* *TYPE*" on a separate line.
If you TRAIN-TYPE a Pokemon 5 times in the same phase while in
the Type Training Academy it will change to its secondary type
(See bulbapedia page for your pokemon to look up its secondary
type). Pokemon do not gain ATK/HP when Type Trained, they do
gain a level though. This will not be available till Phase 5.
Pokemon captured in Luxury Ball still gains 1/1 when Type
Trained.
Pokemon with EXP SHARE changes type with 3 TRAIN-TYPE actions.
For example.
1- TRAIN Jynx (Psychic) TYPE
2- TRAIN Jynx (Psychic) TYPE
Free- TRAIN Croagunk (Poison) w/ EXP SHARE TYPE
3- TRAIN Jynx (Psychic) TYPE
4- TRAIN Jynx (Psychic) TYPE
Free- TRAIN Croagunk (Poison) w/ EXP SHARE TYPE
5- TRAIN Jynx (Psychic) TYPE
6- TRAIN Jynx (Psychic) TYPE
Free- TRAIN Croagunk (Poison) w/ EXP SHARE TYPE
Jynx Changes to Ice Type
Crogunk Changes to Fighting

italicize your free actions and/or number your allocated
actions.

---------------------------------------------------------
BATTLE ROYALE
Once during each battle period, each player's Pokemon may attack
another player's Pokemon. They must all choose different targets
(otherwise only the first attack applies). Weakness and
Resistance are applied, and the attacking Pokemon's attack
damage is done to the defending Pokemon. An example of a post
is:
Squirtle -> Vablakes' Weedle for 5
Bibarel -> Ice's Beautifly for 7
Hitmonchan -> Vablakes' Sawk for 8
Weakness: Attacks do +10
--If an attacks base damage is less then 10, it is doubled
instead of +10 for weakness.
Resistance: Attacks do -10
Confusion:
A confused Pokemon will attack a random Pokemon. It will always
attack. Confusion lasts for one phase.
ABILITIES
Every Pokemon has an Ability. Unless a Pokemon has a Special
Ability its Ability is based on their type. If a Pokemon has a
Special Ability it does not have its Normal Type Based Ability.
More on Abilities and what they do later.
Location with Pokemon rarities (Will be updated upon captures)

until the end of build up phase and you enter Cool Down Phase.
You may only requip once in the game. Choose carefully.

*Pokemon*" on a separate line.
USE HP UP on Pikachu
It doesn't cost an action to use a Pokemon STAT item, but the
Pokemon must be in your party to use the Item on it.
Poke Balls
PokeBalls are used in conjunction with the CAPTURE Action. It
doesn't cost an action to use a better PokeBall but it still
cost an Action to CAPTURE.
1- CAPTURE using ULTRA BALL
The effect of Luxray Ball can not be combine with the effects of
Great/Ultra/Master Balls
All trainers have an infinite supply of regular Pokeballs
Repels
Using a Repel is performed by typing "USE *Repel*" on a separate

/In, I'll read the rules later :P. Thank you for nerfing Metal
though :D. I completely agree on the front of "no teams", but
what if we added something else in it's place? For example, we
could have something like "Leagues" (such as the ones in the
anime that are particular to each region). Everyone could be
randomly assigned one, and certain Pokemon they catch would gain
stat boosts come the Battle Phases depending on what region they
were introduced in (i.e., if you're part of the Indigo league
and have a Charmander, it would get a +10/+10 boost in the
Battle Phases, while if you're part of the Hoenn League and have
a Kecleon, he would get a +10/+10 boost), and people that happen
to be in the same League don't actually have any perks or
relations different from any other two members.
Another idea off the top of my head, what if we added a Speed
stat, and made it so that the top 5 Pokemon with the highest
Speed stats would be given the ability to fulfill their actions
before every other pokemon's during the Battle Phases (similar
to Quick Claw).
If we could have a selection of starters to choose from (nothing
big, just 2-3 would be good enough), that would be cool. I just
don't enjoy the idea of getting stuck with a pokemon that I
could care less about and just end up releasing halfway through
the game.
I'm just throwing ideas out there. It's always fun to try
something new :P.

I don't know much about the leagues (I don't watch the show) but
I could assign regions? I don't know.
Also, the only problem I see with allowing people to pick their
starter is that it could give an advantage, being able to pick a
particular Pokemon to fit your strategy. However, that does give
the same advantage to everyone...
I'll do it. I'll PM each player with their options to ensure
that one player doesn't pick a Pokemon to troll another
particular player, so that no one knows what starter everyone
else will be getting. Reply with your choice in that PM once it
is sent out.
Being able to move first (quick claw) is what made Metal so
great. I don't think Speed is a great idea, but if half of the
players agree that it is a great idea, I will impliment it. :D
