       Today’s card is Blaziken DEX.
Blaziken’s first attack is Blaze Kick, and [R][C] you get a
guaranteed 40 damage and with the flip of a coin you get 30 more
damage and the burn effect on your opponent’s Pokemon. Its
second attack is Flamethrower, for [R][R][C] it does 130 damage
and you have to discard an energy attached to Blaziken. It would
be easier to work with if the cost was [R]{C}{C}, because then
it could abuse Double Colorless Energy, however, it can’t.
Another thing to note about Blaziken is that it is a Stage 2,
which, in this format, isn’t the greatest thing. They are a bit
harder to set up, have less HP, and mediocre attacks compared to
EXs. But that’s what Tropical Beach is for, right?
       Partners for Blaziken
Entei EX: Of all the partners that Blaziken could utilize,
Entei, I believe, is the best. It helps with burns and returns
energy to Blazikens via the discard. Its high HP makes for a
good beginning wall, and it is useful at all stages in the game.
       Volcarona DEX:
Volcarona’s ability, Scorching Scales, allows you to put 4
damage counters instead of 2 in between turns. Usually I
wouldn’t run a Stage 1 along a Stage 2, but you can set up a
Volcarona later, around T3, and still be fine.
       Victini EX:
Use Victini for a quick power-up on benched Torchics T1. You
can’t evolve them anyways. But remember that Victini is a tough
thing to bring out late-game, because of its low-HP.
These are just a few partners for Blaziken, and I’m sure there
       are better combinations out there.
       Time for Pros and Cons
       Pros:
       Burns
Fire-Typing will be nice in the next format
       Non-EX, Non-Plasma attacker
       Decent HP (140)
       Some sick card art
       Cons:
Stage 2, making it a little difficult to set up.
Can’t make the best use of DCE
Fire-Typing difficult to use in this format
       Not the best retreat cost
Thanks to all who read this Card of the Day, and a big thanks to
  HTML http://pkmncards.com/
       for the scan of Blaziken!
       That’s a wrap.
