Re: Prologue - The Brawling Bear

"Lady, you can't go before you clean up my floor. Yes, my
halfling friend, I have a room for you. Would you rather
halfling sized or human sized? They're only a silver a day.
Mister dwarf, stew is on the fire, do you want a smoked sausage
in the meantime?"
T'boch came to his senses and quickly tried to cater to
everyone's needs.
"And what about you?", said the barkeep to the two sailors.
"You're either drinking them beers or helping the lasses.
-I think we'll help the lasses", said one of them, after a
glance to his fellow. They then asked for water and something to
wash the blood away with.
"Hang on", said T'boch, first handing everyone a mug and serving
Forhrlit, Juleka, Conga and Shin two shooters of his special
liquor, that sweet-tasting and mind-easing whisky. "On the
house. Sorry for this little incident", and he somewhat bowed
before Juleka and Shin.

"Life, and therefore death, is never a little incident." I reply
the courtesy and turn to the sailors "I'm sorry for your lost
but I'll see that this situation never repeats itself" as I say
that I turn to Forhrlit with a reassuring smile "and worry not
tavern keeper, I'll help clean everything. By the way,
ma'ol'mule, Mikaela is outside. I'd appreciate stabling and
safekeeping of the saddles and the cart outside if you will" <
If a thaumaturge casting can help clean the floor I do so, and
take the body to a place where we can perform some last rites on
him so he can have a proper burial >

Shin ignores the liqueur, clearly disturbed by the idea of
drinking such a drink.
"That room is very cheap, there had better not be any bed bugs"
Shin hands the keep 2 silver. "One for the room, one for my
meals which will consist of dry bread, meat and water"
Shin then walks to examine the job board.

Forhrlit takes the shot of liquor eagerly. She felt as if her
nerves were making her dizzy again. She quickly eyes everyone in
the room and silently moves toward Julkea and the sailors to
help with the body.
Quickly looking up Forhrlit says "My apologies, Mr. T'boch,"
then resumes the task at hand.

Conga hastily agrees to take the smoked sausage, gobbling it up,
before heading to the bulletin board, to look for a new
assignment, and possibly a slap n' tickle before he heads back
out. "You call THIS a bulletin board?" "Hold on... What's
this..." Conga pulls a notice down, and takes it to the barkeep,
asking him what he knows about THIS one.

Up on the job board are a few scrolls, most of which asking for
farm hands, since the harvest is quickly approaching. However, a
few are actually interesting. One says something about a goblin
problem in the West Woods. Another claims bandits are on the
loose. But the one Conga brought to T'boch was probably the
longest posted there, and for good reason.
"If you do not have a heart, keep reading", said the header.
"Anyone or anything with a heart cannot fulfill this quest. If
you are desperate or foolhardy, ask the innkeep about Duvahnku."
When Conga approached with this paper piece, the sun-tanned
innkeeper took a pale hue you did not think possible. He
stammered for a second, mug and tablecloth in hand. He finally
caught hold of himself and almost calmly said to Conga:
"Are you sure, master dwarf? Several went, none came back. If
you insist, I will tell you of the Duvahnku, but if you go,
it'll be to your death... or worse..."
As he trailed that last word, he looked as serious as a priest.
He then looked at the liquor Shin left untouched, and without an
hesitation, he drank it all.

"Duvahnku? Yes! That is where I must go. Wait... Where is
Duvahnku? Or What is/are Duvahnku? Oh, never mind, tell me what
you can about this notice, so I can get prepared and on my way!"
Conga motions to the others in the room, and yells to each
(including the sailors) "Who wants to go... on an adventure?"
"If you want, we could even smash some goblin heads in the West
Woods on the way there... err, provided the West Woods are on
the way, that is..." Conga looks to the tavernkeeper, and only
now notices that the tavern keeper seems uneasy about this
particular adventure.

Forhrlit, feeling better after the shot of special liquor walks
quietly over to where Conga and T'boch are talking. "If it pays
well and takes me further down the road I would consider going
with you Mr. Dwarf."
She looks at T'boch and the growing concern on his face and says
"Certain death isn't the worst of fates. I've seen worse..." she
picks up the piece of bread from the bar that was left during
the fight and begins to eat it slowly, her eyes hidden beneath
her hood.

Standing nearby Shin has been listening to this conversation. He
walks to stand near to the dwarf and bar keep.
"I too would like to here about this thing you claim is so
perilous"

"By The Light!" I say in a whisper (These guys just dont care
about ANYTHING do they?) "I've to give the proper rites to this
poor guy, but I'm going wherever the hooded lass goes,
particularly if anyone is in need of help or in danger of any
kind!"
