Chapter 3 - Little Frost
By: Lars Date: December 7, 2016, 9:42 am
---------------------------------------------------------
As the ascension went, our adventurers were very wary and paying
attention to every detail. After a several hours, about four
hours after midday, Shin, taking point, spots an odd sight.
Smoke, coming from a little further up. Everyone decides to push
forward, but being extra careful, they form a small scouting
party, leaving Even with the cart. While keeping the cart in
sight, they get a few hundred feet in front, making as little
noise as their armours allow.
About half a mile further, they spot a little cabin on an offset
path on the right. The smoke clearly is coming from its chimney.
No one is in sight, but beside the smoke, there are clear signs
of occupation: a half-skinned deer carcass, a firewood pile,
various tools, a functionnal well, and such.

"Do yeh think this could be Father Winter's house?!" < sry I
just couldn't resist the joke, and it's in character so... yeah
:) >
I look a little too excited at the posibility, looking for a
posittive reply from my companions...then my eyes fix on
Forhrlit, expecting her support.

As usual, Shin only groans as some form of consent and moves up
stealthily, in case of a problem.
Even nods at Conga, eases his sword in its scabbard and moves
bluntly towards the shack, thus getting all the attention on
himself. He pounds his fist on the wooden door, waiting for an
answer. The group (excluding Shin) gathers up near the door,
leaving Mikaela a few dozen feet back, in the middle of the
place.
When the door opens, the man revealing himself had seen better
days. He looked old, but still very alert and somehow tense.
After an instant, he opens the door completely, and smiles a
large rotten smile with missing teeth. His white hair was
shoulder length, though clearly he took no care of it. His
clothes had been used and abused, clearly having seen some
better days, but they were somewhat clean and whole.
"Hey friends! Name's Zeke. Watcha doin' up here on Little Frost?
Wanna come in? Stew's almost ready an' I got me some good rabbit
this time!"

Conga: "Aye, Stew sounds great. Might you have any bacon & ale
to go with?" Conga pushes his way in, attempting to find a seat,
assuming there will not be enough seats for all inside the small
abode.

Shin steps over the treshold into the cabin, his eyes scanning
the room. He moves to a corner of the room and simply waits for
everyone so thy can move on and declines the stew.

-sorry, when I posted I was beyond drunk, so here goes- :
Forhrlit watches what is going on, falls back and puts her left
hand on Juleka's shoulder as the party walks inside the cabin.
The fingers of her right hand playing on the grip of her
dagger...
Mega perception check LOL

Conga barges in, with all of his dwarven sublety and finesse,
and takes the only one of two seats available. Zeke takes the
other one, at a workbench 5 feet away, and sets it at the table.
He sits on it, letting everyone come in, and starts stuffing a
small pipe.
"Unfortunately, dwarf, pigs and barley aren't very common up
here, and traders won't risk their hides climbing for my
beautiful eyes!" Zeke accompanies this last remark with a large
grin.
The cabin was pretty average, about 15 feet by 25, with a small
stove, narrow straw bed, the table, two chairs, a workbench and
a little dresser are the only furniture. The walls are barren,
except for two (unlit) lamps. A wooden board rests on the work
bench, with the letters "M-A-Y-B-E-L" carved on it. on the side
of the workbench, a pile of similar wooden boards stacks about 3
feet high, meaning roughly a hundred boards.
Once everyone is inside, Zeke goes on with the conversation: "So
tell me, who are you? What are you doing here?"

Forhrlit says quietly with a dark gleam in her eye, "Thanks for
ur hospitality. We r investigators on a mission. we have been on
the road for quite a while."
