Shin rouses and is on his feet in an instant and in pose ready
for whatever may come his way.
Shin darts for the darkest parts of the shadows ready to strike
at any enemy who dares to approach

< I wasn't sure if the last counted as an update or not but
based on the lack of another update I'm posting mine >
I check the bushes and try to pin point our would be assailants
(I'm using the sounds they make...) while I draw my sword from
it's scabbard I don my shield < losing concentration on the
ready action to cast bless > and prepare for battle.
(I've never made up my mind on wether I like or hate the
anticipation before battle...my heart is racing !!! )

As the dwarf shouted, Forhrlit lost the voices. They had seemed
very close-by, but were now silent. A long moment passed, maybe
5 to 6 seconds without a single sound, all things frozen in
wait.
Then a laugh erupted. Not a high-pitched laugh as you would have
imagined, but an amused, human laugh. Even was soon on his
knees, laughing so hard that he dropped his weapon. You could
then hear several feet moving fast, at least ten creatures. As
your eyes scanned the camp's edges, they emerged from the trees
all at once.
Eleven goblins, most of which had shortswords and crude leather
armours, were closing in. Two goblins were significantly
different: one wore a chainmail and to other was naked. All had
several twigs and leaves protruding from their armour, as if to
better camouflage themselves. The one in a chainmail pointed his
falchion at Conga and hissed: "Drop the hammer, dwarf. Our chief
wants to talk to all of you." The rest of them were keeping a
fighting stance, shields up, but weapons down, and were not
making a hint of a move.

Conga, unsure as to why the sailor was laughing so, responded to
the now visible goblin in a stern, steady tone, "I drop my
hammer only at the order of Moradin!" "Who do you think you are,
that I or my friends should bow to you?" I make no advance, nor
sign of retreat or backing down to this filthy would-be foe. "If
your chief wants to talk, let him come, and I hope he's not the
chief" (Conga points to the naked goblin)

I study the goblins and try to discover their motives < I want
to use my insight no discover whats going on > (they are not
attacking... they're talking...could these be the goblins from
the OTHER tribe? the one that usually keeps to themselves?)
"Remember that da' tavernkeeper told us? 'bout the 2 kinds of
goblins?" I tell my party in a low voice "Light, Guide me" < I
cast Guidance as subtly as I can and say:>
"Using magic on our ally and asking us to drop our
weapons...while ya'll're < you all are > pointing us with the
sharp and pointy things ain't nice ya know?" I lower my weapon
but don't drop it "We don't to hurt ya if we can help it, but we
will defend ourselves we will...I'm sure ya think ya have
th'upper hand based on numbers" (not really but let them think
that) "but how many of ya guys could die here?" I make a pause
to consider the posibility and eye the weapon in Forhrlit's and
Conga's hands with confidence "I'm sure neither of us want
that...we will gladly talk to yar chief...but on middle
ground...let there be peace...no need for dead tonite" I smile
at them and open my arms in a sign of peace
"what do ya say?" < Can I get a Persuasion roll please? With the
bonus to guidance if possible? >

Forhrlit looks at Juleka with a dark gleam in her eyes. She says
in a stronger than usual, yet still quiet voice, "I think we
should make them eat their swords..." Then looks at Conga with
what may seem a slightly maniacal look on her face as if to say
'they are week. We can take 'em.'
She is starting to feel that sensation that frees her from her
inner turmoil, almost a euphoria of battle.
She looks back to Juleka almost like 'please?'.

Shin looks at Even and walks directly at the Goblin leader who
has emerged.
He stops just out of reach of the Goblins and says in a firm
clear voice
"What give your the right to make demands of me?"
"Explain yourself or all of your lives will be forfeit."

Juleka's plea made its way through, apparently. They all shifted
uneasily on their feet, with the chainmailed one looking at the
naked one.
"Uh, nevermind. We'll find somebody else." said the naked
goblin. "I may not be chieftain, but I'm advising him. I'm
Dalob, shaman of our tribe. We need to get our lands back. We're
stuck between our enemy on one side and the man militias on the
other. What you see here is half our fighting force. Come
Zugluk, we'll go on our own."
He motioned to the chainmailed goblin, and they all sheathed
their weapons and started to regroup.

"Not so fast, Dalob." What's this about needing your land back?"
"We've actually heard of some problems in these parts about
some rival goblin camps attacking caravans, possibly at war
with each other." "We were even asked to help stop the raids
on the trade caravans if possible" "So, now that you've stowed
your weapons, let us talk." ((At this point , Conga plops down
on a large boulder and motions to Juleka to come engage the
goblins, knowing that diplomacy and persuasion are not his
fortè.)

Forhrlit sheaths her blade with a shrug of her shoulders hating
herself for giving in to the excitement of a possible battle.
She walks up becide Conga after giving Even a shove with her
boot to hopefully break him out of the spell. She stands silent
with her cowl pulled low and a hand on the pommel of her sword.
