Re: Chapter 1 - The Westward Journey

As everyone finished their meal and stood up to leave, the
barmaid wished you all good luck. You step out of the inn and
find yourself in a farming village around 7 o'clock. That is, no
one is in town. The inn and general store are the only two
building that look open. The stables are not so far down the
road.
The small village center only consists in a dozen houses, six
warehouses between the road and the fishing docks, a church
primarily devoted to Lathander, though all faiths are welcomed,
the inn, general store and a small province guard garrison. The
village has about seventy people living near the center of town,
including the whole guard garrison, and another two hundred
living along the coast and in the fields. The sun is shining and
the sky is blue, with a medium wind coming from the sea. Those
of you that are not accustomed to the shoreline would say this
is a strong wind, between 40 and 60 km/h (25 to 35 mph).

Shin falls in at the back of the party and pulls up his hood to
keep the majority of the light out of his eyes and keeps away
from direct sunlight if possible and in shadow.

Some may find it unusual ,given her attitude, but Forhrlit stays
near the mule and Juleka, hood drawn low and coat pulled tight
--her overcoat is kind of like a trench coat. The hood attached
to a lighter jacket underneath--- . She would rather be in a
group when out in the daylight because she would be less likely
singled out by someone. Hiding in plain sight as it were.

Conga, upon emerging from the tavern, takes a look around, as it
was night when he entered this place the night prior, and sees
the layout, taking note of the buildings he thinks are worth
noticing. Upon seeing the stables, he wonders if perhaps mounts
might be a good idea for this trek towards Little Frost, as they
will help us move more quickly on our way, and moreso, they will
likely be needed to haul out the insane amounts of cultist
treasure he expects to find in the long-abandoned mountain.
Also, since other parties are probably setting upon this same
task, we must move quickly. Conga suggests to the group that
creatures to ride upon might be a great idea, if we are to make
it through Durham's gates more quickly than on foot. He reckons
some ponies ought to suffice, and could likely be purchased or
even rented affordably.

After fully packing all the things on the cart I take a seat on
the front of it.
"Ahoy! Unfold the sail! Rise the anchor! Mr. Smith, all hands on
deck!" I say outloud playfully imitating the voice of a rash
pirate captain "yes captain!" I act the answer of the fictitious
'Mr. Smith' "Move it men! This vessel is bound for adventure!
Full speed ahead!" I finish returning to my captain
impersonation and pointing forward with my sword, while shaking
the reins with my other hand to instruct Mikaela to start
walking.
All the trip I go humming and/or whistling a happy road tune,
bursting into song from time to time.
"Let's go folks! Next stop, the woods! ... it was the woods,
right?"

The small company made good pace. Everything in their respective
demeanor showed their uniqueness. The halfling keeping to
himself, Forhrlit trying to keep a low profile, Conga going
forward with astounding determination, Juleka, happy as ever,
trying to lighten their hearts and Even, who surprised them with
his talents of storyteller and fighter.
The first few days were uneventful. Not a single traveler on the
road, nothing. Even seemed to have an endless amount of stories
to be told, and he did not need much to start the telling of
one. At night's eve, while setting up camp and eating, he would
sometimes ask for a little combat training, sometimes go hunt
for fresh meat and forage for berries. Not that he ever brought
anything back. Anyway, the travel was easy and not so quiet.
Please make one post about what you do on the road and in
evenings. My next post will see dice rolls.

Conga marches on with great enthusiasm, thirsty for battle. He
cracks his whip from time to time, snickering whenever anyone in
the party flinches or shrieks. He listens intently to the
sailor's stories of adventure, and assists him with some basic
combat maneuvers along the road, even allowing him to wield his
weapon from time to time. At night, Conga tends to sleep
soundly, almost as if in a coma or some state of
unconsciousness, though only after repeatedly demonstrating his
voracious appetite for meat and bread. He remains at the ready,
knowing that battle can always be seconds away. Even when he
removes his armor, he remains armed.

Forhrlit remains mostly quiet during the journey, as is to be
expected. During the time the party camps she usually eats
quickly, has a bit of ale from the small supply given by T'boch
and falls asleep before the others.Weapons always handy yet
mostly unseen. She only sleeps for about 3 hours and then
disappears into the night only to return for last watch. She
seems to huff and roll her eyes at Even's stories if anyone has
the perception to notice. She, of course, keeps her hood pulled
low..

Each evening Shin spends his time stretching and performing
meditation and strengthening/flexibility exercises.
During the days he walks along quietly trying to avoid too much
contact.

I don't lead the March but most likely close it, guiding the
cart and all. Confident and proud my sword is at my side more
because of imitation than any other reason (seeing how everyone
seems a little too paranoid and at the ready).
During the trip I'm usually breaking the silence. Whistling and
singing using natural talent rather than training or skill or
chatting with whoever lets me. (Although I insist on Forhrlit
far often than the rest)
During camping I'm the first to help with the set up and I'm the
cook ("Grandma's specials! And yeah you can have another
serving! Eat up!")
I make particularly sure of letting Mikaela rest up and that our
belongings are safe and secure during night.
