Chapter 1 - The Westward Journey
By: Lars Date: July 18, 2016, 1:27 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
As the sun's first light poured over the inn, our adventurers
were woken up with the sweet smell of a hearty breakfast. Down
in the common room, two farmers were eating sweetened porridge
and chatting with the barmaid. There were very few sounds coming
from outside, aside from the occasionnal horse whinny.
The redhaired barmaid was evidently not present last night. She
was an elf, a small one. She chatted easily with the peasants
while roasting some bacon and preparing some rations for the
road.

I wake up early (perhaps TOO early) as the first rays of the sun
are still hiding on the horizon, though the veil of night is
already falling back on the east (legacy of helping father since
early in the morning)
"The Light will be pushing us on our journey, blowing our
'sails' full with its power" I whisper a pray-like comment
opening the window to let the chill breeze of the morning
inside.
I turn aroun from the window and making sure that no one is the
wiser (aka as peeking) I stretch my wings and perform some basic
exercises.
(I need them to be stronger! Hidden under my cape they get
little time to exercise, better make every second they are out
count!)
After that I request Warm water to be brought to the room and
wake Forhrlit up "rise and shine bright eyes! It's probably
going to take them several minutes to ready our bath and
meanwhile we're gonna be sure that everything is ready for our
trip! I have a cart in the stables where we can travel...
Abitcrampedbutnomatter !" I smile warmly at her "you get to meet
Miakela before everyone else! You'll love her!" (This girl has a
very bright future, she just doesn't know it yet! And I'm going
to help her illuminate the way! That will put me a step closer
to my own destiny!"
I take Forhrlit to the stables < dragging her if needed > and
say hello to the animals there < think Disney princess style >
finally reaching my Mule: Mikaela
"Hey there!" I say happily to it " glad you could sleep warmly,
uh?" I pet her and play with her long ears and scratch her
flanks "I got you a large bag of oatmeal too! Enjoy pretty!" I
put said bag I front of her.
After that I turn to Forhrlit to see how's she enjoying the
animals

Shin comes down to the bar. Moves into the corner of the room,
eats a small piece of bread and then begins stretching and
performing some basics manuvuers

Forhrlit, hood drawn low in the morning light, is suffering a
small hangover but doesn't resent being dragged out of bed
early. She was awake an hour before Juleka came to stirr her.
Thinking... wondering if she would ever be free of her past...
Forhrlit nods to Juleka and reaches out her hand to pet the mule
as it eats. "I knew someone that had an animal once..." a
whisper more to herself then at Juleka and then Forhrlit says,
"Time for some food myself...and some hair of the dog that bit
me." With that she turns and walks back toward the inn but stops
suddenly and says back to Juleka "It seems like a nice mule",
then continues on toward breakfast.
--Forhrlit didn't see Julkea's wings as she was laying facing
the wall when Juleka was stretching --

Conga & Even emerge from their room, ready to go. Conga has
wiped some of the mud & blood off his armor and boots, the Anvil
and Hammer symbol of his god revealed, now quite obvious
emblazoned on his chest piece. Conga is ready to head West, his
weapon on his back, as he takes a seat near where Shin is
stretching, and waits for the bacon to be served.

As the party went in the common room, one after the other, the
barmaid greeted you all.
"Hope you slept well! T'boch just went to bed, so I've got his
instructions. A week of rations for four : a dwarf and three
humans. A week of dried bread for the halfling. A week of feed
for a medium-sized mule. A medium barrel of water, a small keg
of ale. He also wants you to have this map and this morning's
breakfast." When she was done talking, she served you all a
small plate with two eggs, a small bowl of porridge, three bacon
slices and two bread slices. She only served bread to Shin, as
T'boch had told her.
"Once you're done eating, you may be on your way. The boss told
me you already paid."

Forhrlit eats her breakfast quietly occasionally glancing at
Juleka and the others. When she finishes she orders one shot of
cheap whiskey, downs it and sits near Juleka. "Whenever you and
the others are ready to go..." in a soft monotone.

"Aye lass, I'm ready, and Even here is ready also, we've already
retrieved his equipment from his ship. His boss didn't want to
let him quit, but after a few seconds looking us up & down, and
our obvious intent to leave, his boss wished him safe journeys."
"I feel so rested and ready to see what Moradin has in store for
each of us as we get underway".

I finish tending to the Stables and making sure everything is
prepared for the journey: check the condition of the leather
bonds, the cart, the wheels, etc. Then go up to my room, fit my
armour on, carefully my hiding my wings under my cape.
I go downstairs to have breakfast with everyone.
"G'mornin' ya'll!" I say with a cheeky smile and a warm voice. I
sit down next to Forhrlit and after hearing the list of items
the tavernkeeper left for us I nearly choke on a piece of bread
"that's awful generous of you guys, thank you!"
I eat swiftly but enjoy every bite to its fullest.
After Forhrlit orders whisky I just rise an eyebrow "enjoying
the last taste of civilization? Or you're just a morning
drinker?" I say teasing the other girl. A playful smile on my
lips (if only I could make her smile...I would start to crack
that shell of hers...I know I'm going ways still...poor girl
really needs a friend)
"I'm ready too. You big, manly, mean looking guys ready to go
too? Er, 'cept for you" I say referring to Shin "you're probably
still big for your standard though" :P

Shin simply nibbles some bread has a glass of water and waits
beside the door for everyone to be ready and leave.
His does spend a fair amount of time tapping his foot
