       Ryan Adams

I wouldn't call myself a Ryan Adams fan as I hardly know any of
his catalogue of work and much of what I've heard is good but
not really my thing, not stuff I would choose to put on. First
time I heard of him was through my Dad back in the early 2000s
when he played me one of his albums. I think it may have been
'Gold'. The only song I remember jumping out at me was "When
The Stars Go Blue". I never listened to anything else from him
       after that.
Then whilst travelling Europe with SoulJahm in 2011, we were in
Paris and Ryan Adams must have just released a new album and
this song popped up somewhere, probably on YouTube.

Apart from it being a lovely song, the lines about "waiting
outside while you find your keys, like bags of trash in the
blackening snow" we could relate to after some of our
experiences struggling on through cold European winters. The
song eventually found its way into my setlist online and
busking, I played it a lot from 2016 onwards.
The next time Ryan's work caught my attention was in 2018 when
these two songs appeared for me.
