       U.S. Covid rates approach initial 2020 peak

       SUMMARY - The United States (US) is reaching Covid infection
       rates that approach the initial 2020 peaks. Despite the new
       boosters being formulated to protect against XBB.1.5, they
       provide renewed protection against current strains (EG.5 &
       BA.2.86). Scientists are concerned about certain mutations
       appearing in the most recent strains prevalent in the U.S..
