2026/2027 US School Illness Tracking Thread
DIR By: Data Report
Date: August 15, 2026, 2:34 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Can you believe it? We are in mid-August, which means back to
school; in fact, in some places, school has already started in
the US. This means it is time for me to start a brand-new school
illness thread for the 2026/2027 school year. Last school year
was filled with illness and disruptions from outbreaks. I have
no doubt in my mind that we will see this happen again as we
head into fall and winter, when more viruses start to increase.
This will be a locked thread that I will manage myself. If
anyone sees something I have not added to the thread, please, by
all means, send me a direct message here or on 1 of my social
media pages, or send me an email. Please make sure to include
the school district/school and the city and state where the
illness outbreak has occurred.
For now, I am only doing a thread for the US, as I did for the
last school year. I think it would be too much to do an
international thread on top of this, as we already track so many
things.
