Why You Dream You Forgot Your Mask – Meaning of Recurring
COVID-19 Maskless Nightmares
I have had a number of dreams where I am in a social setting or
someone’s home or something like that, and suddenly realize that
no one is wearing masks, and they’re not maintaining social
distance. And I wake up feeling very anxious and unsettled after
that.

COMMENT: When I first started wearing mask tons of recurring
dreams of me not having my mask on in public totally happen to
me and still occasionally do. In my recurrent dreams or
nightmares I'd be in a crowd or separated from a loved one
realizing I had no mask on! Then I'd think this is crazy I'm
lost in a stupid crowd of people... where's my mask!? .. I gotta
get outta here!! Why am being so stupid!? Then I'd finally wake
up relieved it was only a dream and in reality I'm not that
stupid.
I'm sure as people learn more about the true nature of long
covid or the recent outbreak of Ebola that this too might also
trigger some 'pandemic' and 'maskless' nightmares for some
people. I always wake up feeling "Whew thank God it was only a
maskless nightmare! I'm still safe!" knowing full well I have
not strayed from my masked way of life so therefore I don't have
to worry in reality.
It's perfectly reasonable and understandable that people would
be having nightmares right now during bad outbreaks after all
there's only one you. Those who have reverence for life surely
are sensitive to large viral outbreaks that may be incoming. All
you really have is one life.
The mask understandably serves a purpose for me,
