WHO urged to make respirator masks the standard for workers in
“all healthcare settings”
(Published 09 January 2026)
"Doctors, scientists, and public health experts have urged the
World Health Organization (WHO) to recommend that healthcare
workers wear respirators “in every encounter in all healthcare
settings.”
The letter—seen by The BMJ—calls for WHO to update its infection
prevention and control guidance to recommend that staff wear
respirators such as N95, FFP2/3, and elastomeric masks as
standard practice and “not just during outbreaks or high risk
procedures.”
It argues that not doing so is “scientifically indefensible” and
“dangerous,” as it would continue to expose staff and patients
to “preventable and potentially even lethal risk” from pathogens
such as SARS-CoV-2.
Around 50 experts—including Martin McKee, professor of European
public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical
Medicine, and Trisha Greenhalgh, professor of primary care
health sciences at the University of Oxford—have endorsed the
letter."

COMMENT:
Holy Moly! Damn Right! That's what Ive been saying all along...
It is “scientifically indefensible” and “dangerous" for people
in the healthcare business not to wear masks! ,” Now we are
talking! Some real Doctors, scientists, and public health
experts just wrote you a letter local doctor ... Now read that
letter Doctors and Nurses!!!
Wear a Mask,
The Masked Man
P.S. Got some big doctors, scientists, and public health experts
on my side now that just signed their name to something
significant that I believe in; namely: MASKING! :) Feels good!
I believe in science man.I believe in microscopic entities and I
believe in microscopes, stethoscopes and masks! I believe in the
mask! Think like a real scientist and wear mask! I learned from
the microscope..
...we had a a microscope at grandma's house and even as a child
I was taught how to see things through the microscope ..the
microscope has taught me to believe in things I can't see.
Being able to use a microscope and see germs and particles is
what separates the real scientists from the quacks! Its one of
the reasons I mask...
... Even as I child I knew to mask so as not to breathe onto and
fog up the microscope plate and the specimen I was studying.
You can't see a thing through a microscope if you breathe hot
air on your specimen or patient. You'll contaminate the
microscope slide if you breathe hot air or vapor on your
specimen. You don't want to study your own germs or particles by
accident you want to study theirs and that's why we mask so as
to keep the microscopic entities separate from one another so we
can get a good reading.
That's also the whole point of diagnosing and using tests on a
patient.. a patient comes up you with a mysterious illness or
something wrong and automatically you don't wanna breathe on the
patient and you don't want the patient breathing on you or
anyone else.. you wear a mask and administer tests without
breathing on or contaminating the test so you can get a good
reading meanwhile nobody exchanges undetermined particles that
you are studying.. that's the whole key to being a a good
doctor.. the key is to believe in what you can't see and don't
contaminate or mix particles you are studying so you can get a
good reading
So we wear masks and use disinfectants on surfaces and move the
air with air circulating apparatuses all so our tests are
accurate and we can study the right germs in the lab.
Got to wear masks so you can practice applied science correctly
and professionally and also we must wear masks because it is in
a code of ethics for doctors to do everything they can to
prevent disease to begin with. That's in the Hippocratic oath.
Its unethical for a doctor to make someone ill or allow people
to make each other ill under their practice, care, or roof.
I'm sick of these maskless pseudo doctors pretending they can
just look at somebody and touch them and breathe on them and
smile with them and act like they know everything.. Gotta be
professional wear a mask use medical apparatus's and tests and
not breathe on your patients and vice versa .. gotta assume they
might even have a serious contagious disease .. gotta treat
people and microscopic entities with respect and use your
microscope, tests and masks responsibly! and keep your tools
clean and disinfect your tools and medical apparatuses you are
about to use in front of your patients.. take pride in your
precautions and medical tools!
You can only see certain things through a microscope and really
an electron microscope so you better believe in the mask if you
believe in microscopes! If you are a doctor and you don't
believe in microscopes and masks then you are in the wrong
business. You can't see covid, TB, Monkey Pox, Influenza etc...
yeah there are symptoms but it's all about airborne particles
you can't see... gotta wear a mask when working around and
studying germs and illnesses and that's all there is to it.
