study reveals
News brief

common up to 2.5 years after infection among nonhospitalized
adults with long COVID, or post-COVID-19 condition (PCC),
according to a cohort study published today in BMC Public
Health.

COMMENT: Ive always suspected it takes special studies like this
to reveal this...It must be a challenge to even find
participants in such studies because it is likely that people
who don't seek treatment for covid also don't often seek
treatment for long covid either..I am sure there are tons of
people who were asymptomatic that now have long covid and don't
seek treatment because their initial asymptomatic covid was so
elusive they wouldn't attribute their long covid to having had
asymptomatic covid.. heck they would just assume they had ill
health and likely not know they even have long covid... in
other words covid and long covid is probably far underestimated
and under counted.
It's good for studies like this to reveal to us long covid
happens even with mild cases of covid. That's my big beef with
press that underreports this. I can't stand people who downplay
covid simply because they have no way of predicting what kind of
long term problems will occur with covid victims years from
now... we are seeing evidence about covid triggering dementia!
not to mention all sorts of other health related problems
because of having had covid. Who knows how bad covid might
continue to prove to be in the long haul for its victims!?..
There's many studies out there that indicate even mild cases of
covid leading to long covid and long term repercussions. Never
downplay what we don't know.. long covid is a very real thing!
For me personally, I would say long covid is more serious than
simply surviving the initial phases of covid.. By far I am most
scared of catching covid because of long covid!
