       SUMMARY:
       Histoplasmosis is an infection caused by a fungus that's often
       found in bird and bat droppings. People get the infection by
       breathing in airborne cells, called spores, from the fungus.
       These spores often get in the air during demolition,
       construction or cleanup projects.
