       Drought exacerbates rice-destroying pests in Indonesia

       SUMMARY - Drought has exacerbated the spread and infestation of
       the brown planthopper insect, with hundreds of hectares (NOTE: A
       square piece of land that is 100 meters on each side) of rice
       fields damaged in the country of Indonesia. Areas most affected
       by the damage are in East Java province (NOTE: A province in
       Indonesia is the equivalent of a state in the United States).
