SUMMARY - Health authorities in the nation of Uganda have
announced that the Kumi District have confirmed a measles
outbreak in Kumi Municipality and the neighboring sub-counties
of Ongino and Nyero, prompting urgent public health
interventions and a planned immunization campaign targeting
children under five years. There are 26 cases of the measles so
far.
NOTE - For international readers, an Ugandan district would be
the equivalent of a state in the United States or a Province in
Canada.

SUMMARY - The nation of Yemen has experienced over 1,400 measles
cases from April through July 2025, a 219% increase in cases
from the same time period of last year. The bulk of the spread
is from Houthi-controlled areas of the country where low
vaccination rates and anti-vaccination rhetoric from Houthi
leaders is prevalent.
NOTE - The Houthis is a political and military organization
backed by the nation of Iran who are currently at war with the
internationally-recognized government of Yemen.

SUMMARY - In the nation of Canada, the province of Nova Scotia
reports that there are 5 new cases of measles, bringing the
total number of cases to 35 since July 7th. Officials are
warning citizens of two exposure areas, one for a local pharmacy
in the Kennetcook area and another for a health center in Lower
Sackville.

SUMMARY - In the nation of India, 54 suspected cases of measles
have emerged since the beginning of June 2025 in the state of
Manipur. Vaccine hesitancy is a driving factor, with 10 of the
11 confirmed cases resulting from being not vaccinated. In the
Mt. Everest locality, 28 percent of children had not received
any measles vaccination, while 57 percent were only partially
vaccinated. Other areas in the Senapati district had similar
findings.
