       USDA approves Bird Flu vaccine... For Birds

       SUMMARY - The United States Department of Agriculture has
       conditionally approved an avian flu vaccine for use in chickens.
       Zoetis, the manufacturer, has made similar vaccines before, such
       as one to protect California Condors. The approval may signal a
       shift in strategy for the United States, which has traditionally
       killed all chickens in a flock if HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian
       Influenza) was detected.
