"The Vermont Department of Health has confirmed a case of
measles in a school-aged child in Lamoille County. The child
became sick after returning with their family from traveling
internationally in recent days. The risk to the public is
believed to be low, as the child has been isolated from most
community settings while they have been contagious.
       Investigation is ongoing. "

Newborn babies exposed to measles in Texas hospital March 14,
       2025
       SUMMARY:
Infants barely three days old are receiving antibody injections
to help protect against the virus. Nearly 300 cases have been
       reported in the outbreak.

       Masked Man Commentary:
I'm just going by what the facts are about measles and how it
spreads and why it spreads... If you know how airborne diseases
work then it seems reasonable we should behave in certain ways
and adopt a code of conduct in the face of an airborne
disease... one should use the right tools for the job and to
face highly contagious diseases without the proper gear tools
and code of conduct simply seems foolish ... so I criticize
people who know facts and the theory but don't take the
necessary actions or model the right behaviors and practices in
the face of highly contagious diseases such as measles... First
of all i couldn’t even watch this NBC link all of the way
through. I should supply readers with a better pandemic/outbreak
newsworthy link … I gotta tell you these broadcasters are not
good teachers note good role models insofar as how to behave
during outbreaks .. they look ridiculous all huddled together
       maskless.People, don’t create gatherings … don’t mimic herd like
or flock like behavior when contagious diseases at stake ..
these newscasters aren’t modeling how people should behave when
airborne diseases are breaking out .. don't do what these so
called NBC(National Broadcaster Corporation) experts do.. don't
sit together in groups while outbreaks are going on... use your
brains... wear a mask while preaching about airborne diseases!
You just remember and think about this when you see that
maskless doctor on tv: Measles lingers in the air at least two
hours and that maskless doctor is no different than the maskless
       patient!
Just a little friendly advice, It might just be that the typical
person who presents a radio or television transmission has
personal difficulty or a conflict of interest with encouraging
mask use so these typical people associated with tv broadcasting
might not be the best people to seek advice about airborne
       diseases.
We are talking 300 hundred poor innocent infants... is it any
wonder considering healthcare rarely takes advantage of masking
and other virus preventing precautions that they could take
prior to outbreaks? I don't see how healthcare can blame someone
from outside the hospital for coming into a hospital with
measles considering I think it is hospitals that are supposed to
treat and prevent viruses and diseases from occurring.
Dear hospitals and healthcare if you didn't notice or read the
news lately there's been scary measles outbreaks occurring all
       over America..
Why just the other day, 3 days ago on the 11th, The Texas
Department of State Health Services themselves published dat
that "Texas measles cases grow to 223, mostly among children and
teens" look at the picture of the unmasked healthcare guy with
an infant.. Hey healthcare workers, mind putting on a mask for
       me and my old lady!?
Texas healthcare workers, Mind reading the following news(note
the unmasked guy with only one glove on, administering shots to
baby in healthcare facility where I'm sure other babies
       enter):!?:
       [attachimg=1]
Again, hospitals are supposed to treat and prevent viruses and
diseases from occurring.. at least try to create a safe
healthcare environment by wearing personal protection gear such
as masking unless you want measles and other airborne viruses
       and viruses to spread.
It just makes sense that when people enter a hospital treat them
as if they might be sick or that there might be germs in a place
where people often frequent with a multitude of illnesses and
ailments. Make it a safe place! :)
So will other hospitals and healthcare facilities learn from
this and adopt mask mandates and take measures prior to another
outbreak or will this occur at more and more hospitals? We
       shall see.

Seeing as how Masked Man raised the issue of infants being
treated for possible exposure, maybe now is a good time to
remind people that, despite what a certain high-ranking
government official has implied, Vitamin A doesn't treat or
prevent Measles. Don't take my word for it, read the article for
       yourself.

lol..also I think we need to do more than advise parents to
teach their children to merely cough into the crevice of their
inner elbows at schools to prevent outbreaks.(there was a school
with outbreaks that said that was one of the reasons kids were
getting sick was because they were failing to cover up their
involuntary cough spasms properly and that parents need to teach
kids how to not cough so openly)
"Teach your child the "Cover Your Cough" maneuver recommended by
health professionals. Simply cough into the crook of the elbow
instead of covering the cough with your hands".

...Masked Man reasons:I mean sure its better than nothing to
cough into one's elbow but it doesn't compare to the benefits of
masking something of which seems to be completely ignored by
       most health professionals.
Let me touch on another matter which I think is somewhat
dangerous for the masses to presume and that is the idea we must
all become immune to everything. I guess immunity is a
controversial matter but typically I suggest that it is wrong to
think catching a virus or disease will make one stronger. Maybe
it applies for a seasonal cold for a season and maybe ya only
get chicken pox once but I'm skeptical of this attitude that one
can develop immunity against all all diseases and all of the
viruses. I think certain forms of immunity might apply to some
diseases but is a dangerous practice to adopt. I term it the
"immunity " myth where some people think if you catch something
like a virus your body will get stronger and therefore develop
ability to ward off the next virus or variant.. while maybe
there is a certain kind of immunity involved with antibodies
this is certainly of limited value for covid's variants and many
other contagious viruses .. I think this idea that one becomes
stronger after catching diseases for the most part is of
limited practicality for the individual as well as not very
healthy for the rest of society.
In the big picture because not all airborne viruses act alike, I
tend to be of the mind catching or exposing oneself to any virus
is always a bad thing and never really makes a person healthier
nor is it very helpful for others that get sick .. While people
may not always catch certain diseases/illnesses twice in row
right away it is clearly a bad idea to catch a virus in hopes
your body will become immune to it. If that was the case then
all older people would be at an advantage because they've been
exposed to more viruses in life and none of the older people
would catch illnesses because their immunity systems would be so
powerful from all the past illnesses which is clearly not the
       case.
I will add I do think there are forms of immunity and that a
certain kind of immunity does exist and is useful and perhaps
plays a role in the discovery of preventing and even curing
diseases and viruses... my only argument or rather I am opposed
against relying on my immunity system alone because it only
works some of the time and doesn't work for all the viruses we
       face all of the time.
Sooo, this may not be a popular view but what I do is weigh such
odds, skim through some data, read a little history ,do a little
math and use a little logic, I estimate the likelihood of
viruses and variants and simply fathom the densely populated
areas combined with super expedient transportation amongst such
a dense population of people, I use some intuition some
deduction and think about my own experiences in regards to
suffering in illness or healthy bliss then I decide for me I'm
best off Masking and rather than let my immunity system protect
me , I protect it...rather than let my immunity system duke it
out with a world of germs and viruses, I protect my immunity
system with a mask! :) I allow my immunity system to heal the
nicks and scrapes bumps and bruises I get just living naturally
while I wear a mask so as not to burden my immune system from
       the airborne diseases.
