This is escalating quick and getting very concerning.
The number of cases in a measles outbreak centered in Gaines
County, Texas, has jumped to 24, as health officials in New
Mexico investigate a case—the state’s first of the year—in
neighboring Lea County.

SUMMARY - There are now 58 cases of measles in Texas according
to the Texas Department of State Health Services. The majority
of the cases are in Gaines County, but other cases have been
detected in Lubbock, Lynn, Terry and Yoakum Counties. All the
cases are detected among people who are either invaccinated or
their vaccination status is unknown.

Looks like New Mexico is now up to 8 cases, which is a fast
increase like Texas.

SUMMARY - Two universities in Texas have been put on alert after
an individual who tested positive for measles during the ongoing
Texas Measles Outbreak of 2025 visited those locations and more
prior to testing positive. The individual also visited two
restaurants and a museum.

SUMMARY - The Texas Measles Outbreak of 2025 has now risen to
124 cases. Gaines County is the epicenter of the outbreak.
Almost all of the cases are people who are not vaccinated or
individuals whose vaccination status is unknown, and 18 people
have been hospitalized so far.

SUMMARY - A child in the state of Texas has died from measles,
the first U.S. fatality from the disease since 2015. The child
was unvaccinated.
