SUMMARY - In the country of Portugal, the H5N1 virus was
detected in a flock of 55,427 poultry in the village of Sao Joao
Das Lampas in the district of Lisbon, causing the death of 279
birds.

SUMMARY - In the nation of Scotland, HPAI (Highly Pathogenic
Avian Influenza) has been reported on a farm called "Over
Ascreavie House" in the council area of Angus. A 1.8 mile
containment zone and 6.2 mile surveillance zone has been
declared in the area. This is the first incident of reported
HPAI in Scotland since the summer of 2023.

Iceland confirms H5N5 avian flu in cat death. The 10-month-old
cat died in Iceland on December 22nd of 2024.
