Second type of bird flu detected in US dairy cows.
The new clade, known as D1.1, was confirmed in Nevada cattle on
Friday, according to USDA. It was detected in milk collected as
part of a surveillance program launched in December.
This is the same clade of H5N1 that was found in Louisiana in a
human that died and the child that had a severe case of H5N1 in
Canada.

Masked Man's Caveat/Personal feelings about the loss of so many
creatures:
... I suppose this is why they cull domestic livestock when it
gets infected so they can control the area so the carcasses
don't continue to infect other animals. I suppose this is why
when all these animals die in the wild it makes the virus even
more dangerous because so many other animals can get infected
out in the wild. This astronomically horrible news.
I can't recall anything this devastating happening in my
lifetime ever. Ive never heard of so many animals falling ill
and simply dying by so vast a number. This truly alarming. I am
not fear monger and don't want to create hysteria but I am a
realist and this of public concern no doubt we are in trouble.
It almost doesn't matter if bird flu goes human to human from
what it is already doing it is already wreaking enough damage to
cause imbalance in the food chain and havoc is already reaching
our food source and farmers and so many species of animals. Good
luck to those people who try to continue to try to live like
these animals didn't float ashore dead. I have nothing to lose
by saying people are nuts for not masking when that many
creatures just died by the masses. Its smart to be concerned in
these cases. Not wise to breathe in whatever they as a flock or
herd partook of.
Today is the day marked by a new challenge... that's too many
microscopic entities.. to many invisible forces namely a virus
that wiped out too many animals to simply shrug one shoulders
at. We must be realistic and admit to ourselves this never has
happened in any of our personal histories before no one here
amongst us can say 25000 grebes or forty ducks just washed
ashore dead! That's a harsh reality but its best to admit that
it is happening and I think in this case it is smart to be
afraid and to be averse to such a high number of deaths.. in
this case it is a rational fear to have that will protect those
from possibly the same fate. I am definitely masking and cooking
my food and washing clothes and hands as I'm personally not
playing with these viruses as obviously these viruses are not
finished.
That's too many creatures dying all at once for my tastes I'm
for playing it smart and safe and taking more precautions than
necessary to be on the safe side. Others will do as they want
but I'm personally not going to act like a flock or herd with
other people . I am masking and staying apart from crowds and
gatherings and unnecessary person to person matters and enjoying
my life mostly within my dwelling and home. Hope I can find
others online to share with in this society who are like minded
and cautious like me.
Take care and be mindful and in harmony with reality, I'm not
ending up a wheezing dead duck with bird flu.. I'm fighting that
by not breathing in what the flock or herds are breathing in
right now and sticking to my masked way of life! I enjoy sharing
online in person..that's good enough for little old me :)
If that many dead creatures floating ashore doesn't alarm people
or move people to take more precautions against microscopic
entities I don't know what will! Who wants to go walk around or
breathe around a bunch of dead animals!? That's the reality of
this. One of my goals in life is to simply avoid getting sick.
Seeing that many animals dead is like a giant BEWARE 'you are
next' sign from our maker or something.
This should be a humbling experience seeing that many creatures
pass away before our mortal eyes. ..Think of it as if the
animals are trying to tell us something...
There go I but for the grace of the mask,
The Masked Man
P.S. We share with animals and they are in the same world that
we live walk and breathe in. When we go outside we are in the
same personal space as many other plant and animal life.. we are
in a giant terrarium so to speak sharing same water sources,
breathing the same air and part of the same food chain
microscopic entities feed of of(electron microscopes have proved
these microscopic entities exist and are present whether we see
them or not)...it is of PUBLIC CONCERN when these fellow animals
with their lungs and hearts fall ill and pass away... we are
part animal!
Fortunately we are an animal capable of reasoning and
imagination and tools unlike many other animals.. we are capable
of reasoning to ourselves for instant we can make judgements and
modify our behavior accordingly such as "oh, I should mask
unlike that dead flock of birds or I shouldn't drink from the
same water source or trough as that herd of cattle is ill".. I
shouldn't play in the leaves or the bedding as those deer...I
should wear a mask around the bedding and feces of small
mammals... I shouldn't let my house pets whom I love to pet and
be close to get exposed to creatures in the wild... so Just
ignore the part of these studies that make frivolous 'its all
good' statements such as "its not of public concern" &
"Officials note at this time, Center for Disease Control and
Prevention considers the human health risk to the general public
from bird flu to be low while a vast number of animals just
died. Ignore these 'no fear' slogans and decide for yourself
what your legetimate concerns in regards to the main facts of
the study such as numbers and all pertinent data in regards to
the losss of animal life, time, date, locations etc.
I suggest you listen to your own hearts take the necessary
precautions based on your own public concern in these matters
and You decide yourselves how you feel about the losses of such
vast numbers of animal life and the data. I suggest you be in
charge of your own feelings and reactions in this very real
matter and real happenings. Bless you all, take heed, and take
care,
There go I but for the grace of the mask,
The Masked Man
