Here's a follow up story rather than study on the 70 ..make that
72 dead vultures found on a school campus.. its crazy, horrible
and apparently no agency is acting very responsible about the
matter. This is appalling how insensitive and nonchalant
agencies are behaving in the face of very serious bird flu...
       SUMMARY:
Officials Told Ohio School to Trash 72 Dead Vultures Like
Garbage. Turns Out They Had Bird Flu
Staff at an Ohio school were shocked to discover dozens of dead
vultures on its campus. Even more shocking was the response from
       the state's wildlife officials.
       BY ED CARA
       PUBLISHED DECEMBER 9, 2025
"An Ohio elementary school recently became the site of an animal
massacre you’d expect to see at the start of a horror movie.
Staff and students at St. Bernadette’s School in Clermont County
discovered 72 dead vultures on campus after returning from the
Thanksgiving holiday break. It took days and mounting media
pressure before state wildlife officials responded to the
school’s pleas and agreed to collect and test the potentially
diseased carcasses. And as it turns out, some of the birds have
since tested positive for avian influenza, though the risk of
infection to the public is considered low"...
"Despite the clear possible danger of bird flu, ODNR officials
initially declined to help, saying it wasn’t part of the
       agency’s usual duties.
“They were very adamant that they were not coming. There was a
recommendation that you just take them, put them in a bag,
double-bag them and throw them in the garbage,” Pierce Township
Trustee Allen Freeman told WCPO 9. After WCPO 9’s investigative
team contacted the ODNR about the situation, however, the agency
changed its tune. Last Friday morning, wildlife officials
       arrived to collect the birds".

       NOTE of astonishment:
Gawwd! concerned citizens and concerned agencies!,
grow up and wear a mask when you are around dead diseased bodies
, wear a mask as well as gloves and goggles too around avian flu
in 72 dead vultures on campus! we are talking a lot of diseased
       creatures!,
What the Hell is wrong you people..be careful and be caring!!
Its called common sense..don't breathe in dead carcasses of
diseased feathered animals! Its just asking for it not wearing
safety masks around dead diseased creatures! This is historical
tragedy let's treat the death of these creatures with respect
and care and let's be safe.
Its also just disgusting to not wear a mask around anything that
is diseased.. I just can't believe how this tragic, bizarre, and
dangerous event is mishandled, There is nothing mentioned about
       masking for avian flu..
...If these people aren't intelligent enough or willing to mask
up for 72 dead vultures and for avian influenza then they are
truly insane! Talk about ghoulish, nasty, weird behavior and
       simply dangerous..
...it absolutely makes no sense to not mention masking or not to
mask when exposing oneself to dead creatures some of which we
       know have avian flu.
Wear a mask around avian influenza if you have a brain and if
you know what is good for ya,
       The Masked Man
P.S. as I see it all parties , students, educators, mass media
including the agency that is supposed to handle animals are all
guilty of omitting a vital step in safety… and that is mask
       usage.
How is it that gloves are recommended and not masks? Why would
something be so important enough to be handled with gloves to
protect the hands with no mention of mask to protect the lungs?
Is avian influenza not a an airborne illness and respiratory
virus!? Do we protect our hands with sheathing and then simply
breathe in microscopic entities into our lungs like fools?
How is it that a so-called civilized educated group of people
refuse to communicate the importance of the n95 mask when
exposing oneself to airborne illness and disease!?
When 72 vultures are found dead in our backyard let’s at least
take the opportunity to educate ourselves about avian influenza
and communicate safety procedures to the fullest extent to the
       public...
       ...Update:
While there is no mention about masking for avian flu to the
public who no doubt may have encounters with dead diseased birds
in this area, at least this video update shows a worker wearing
       a mask!

       NOTE:
...This occurred at an elementary school. I wish people would
stop saying "the public shouldn't be concerned" about scores of
dead diseased birds with avian influenza. I'm concerned and
nobody has the right to tell me not to be concerned about vast
numbers of creatures dying next to me. I'm a creature too!
If scores of animals with avian influenza drop dead in your
schoolyard and that doesn't bother you then there is something
seriously psychologically & sociologically wrong with you. These
creatures have hearts and brains and a nervous system that we to
some extent share as well. These are horrific real scenes:
scores of dead creatures that died a hideous death of suffering
that people aren't supposed to be comfortable with. Typically in
my opinion most nice people are supposed to show concern and
display emotions and have an aversion to death, disease and
suffering of this scale. It is quite feasible that someday what
happen to those birds could happen to us. Be concerned!
       The Masked Man
keep in mind what is on the menu this holiday season ,
"Traditional holiday celebrations typically feature a turkey or
other poultry product as the centerpiece of the meal. In fact,
46 million turkeys are eaten every Thanksgiving and 22 million
for Christmas in the United States".
I used to live in the Shenandoah valley of Virginia which is
known as the poultry capital of the world...It might be a good
time to remind poultry workers about avian influenza and to wear
n95 masks .. also a good time to remind neighbor's via animal
care and control that I do not appreciate their roosters in my
       yard as seen in this
VIDEO of stupid irresponible neighbor's Rooster in my yard

       I wear a mask so I'm safe!
