       Australia - Queensland hit with surge from XEC strain

       SUMMARY - In the country of Australia, the state of Queensland
       is experiencing a surge of Covid-19 cases, fueled by the XEC
       strain. An average 258 people in Queensland are being sent to
       the hospital with Covid-19 per day, a 128 per cent increase from
       less than two weeks ago. The majority of those hospitalized
       during this surge are 65 years old and older.
