Can malaria affect you years later?
Some varieties of the malaria parasite, which typically cause
milder forms of the disease, can persist for years and cause
relapses.
SUMMARY:
"Although it is well known that malaria episodes due to P.
malariae can occur even after 30–50 years following a previous
malaria attack, the mechanism responsible for its persistence
and late recurrence still remains a medical mystery"

The Masked Man's side-note:
The subject of malaria is significant to me because my
grandfather contracted Malaria in WW2 and later suffered from
malaria episodes much much later in his life.
For what it's worth, what happened to my grandfather with
malaria, is a motivating factor as to why I have been masking
ever since covid has evolved around 2020. We simply will not
know for sure what the longterm repercussions or impact each
particular variant of covid or any novel disease will have on
the human being until that time has passed.
