       PPR - Greece - 2024 events

       SUMMARY - The Agricultural Department in the country of Greece
       has banned the transportation of sheep and goats across the
       country in an effort to stem the outbreak of the virus Peste des
       Petits Ruminants (PPR), which can kill between 80% to 100% of
       infected animals. The outbreak was first uncovered on July 11th
       and 7,000 animals have since been killed. Greece has the largest
       number of goats in Europe.
