       Zika Virus - India - 2024 events

       NOTE - This topic is reserved for all news items and events
       pertaining to the Zika Virus for the nation of India for the
       calendar year of 2024. All are welcomed to contribute to the
       topic.
       SUMMARY - Two people are dead and forty-five are known to be
       infected in an outbreak of the Zika virus in the city of Pune,
       located in the state of Maharashtra. Eight of those forty-five
       people infected are new cases announced today (July 28, 2024),
       of which one is a ten-year old child. It is not known, at this
       time, how much the Zika virus factored into the two people
       dying.
