       I just watched the first episode

       Here are my thoughts..
       It was pretty interesting, there was a little bit of a Twilight
       vibe with all Sookie's overly dramatic looks at the "OMG HOT AND
       MYSTERIOUS" vampire, but it could have been worse and I like
       that the vampires actually seem interesting because they are
       actually a threat.
       Sookie seems like she could be both likeable at times and at
       others make you want to punch her for being so annoying and
       stupid, but I didn't mind her too much, she's a little off
       though, do they explain why?
       The ending was pretty good, I'll probably get a couple more
       episodes before I make my final judgement on the show, but I'm
       liking it enough so far. How much better/worse does it get? Is
       there a lot of Sookie lusting after vampires or does it change
       focus?

       The first season is still my favourite.
       But I'd say it's still mostly good. TB has a weird case of
       having some great storylines while having the absolute worst
       storyline running parallel to it.
       I have the same opinion about Sookie. She pisses me off, but I
       still don't hate her.

       I feel strongly compelled to point out that True Blood, both the
       books and the series, predates Twilight.
