Finally caught up with the show (some spoilers)

A few brief thoughts:
I definitely love it and have been obsessed with it for the last
few weeks or so. Though I will admit, there are some episodes
and character arcs that I feel drag the episodes down a bit. I
was originally not interested in Jon Snow or his whole arc with
the Night's Watch, but I've grown fond of him, especially since
it introduced me to Ygritte, whom I adore. Of course, there are
still arcs like Stannis that I tend to pay less attention to.
I had five major deaths of the show thus far - Ned, Catelyn,
Robb, Talisa, and Joffrey - spoiled for me beforehand, but
watching them actually still left an impression due to how they
were set up. I'm just glad that I've caught up quick enough so
that I don't have to worry about more spoilers.
Other than the obvious choices - Tyrion, Arya, Daenerys, among
others - I have a few favorite characters like the
aforementioned Ygritte, Brienne, Samwell, and even Melisandre.
Hell, I even love Jaime (though I agree with one thing that I
read on another thread that the whole rape scene seemed to kinda
throw his development around in a weird way). I'm always tuned
in when the Lannisters are onscreen. And I definitely love
Daenerys and her arc, even if it's kinda also dragging a bit at
this point.
One random thing I find amusing is that a lot of the actors are
from other films/shows that I almost didn't recognize. I already
spotted Tonks as Osha and Ferb as Jojen, but I didn't realize
that The Hound was also Lurch from Hot Fuzz.
I'll try contributing to episode discussions, and now I can go
back to catching up on other shows. I may finally finish
Breaking Bad (yes, I know), or go back to House of Cards.

Yeah I had Cat and Robbs death spoilt as well, and that was when
I decided to get through the books so I could experience the
rest without fearing spoilers. You should still be careful, even
on this board we're sometimes a little careless with our posts.

I feel like one of the few who really hated the Ygritte
character. I don't know if it's because I haven't read the books
or it's because of the actress but everytime she spoke I wanted
to mute the tv. Her voice is extremely annoying so I don't hope
we see much more of her in the episodes to come.

Funnily enough, I found Ygritte pretty annoying in the books,
but I love her in the show. GRR Martin loves to repeat phrases
and "You know nothing, Jon Snow" grates after the 20th time she
says it per chapter.

I think part of my love for her is just attraction but I also
think she's cool and I enjoy her exchanges with Jon.

I'm pretty sure GRRM said he picked this up from Stephen King .
[spoiler] When Melisandre goes "Then you know nothing Jon Snow"
in ADWD is one of the creepiest moments in the series IMO

This. I'm a sucker for redheads so I pretty much blank out
anything that Rose Leslie does that could be annoying.

Huge fan of red heads as well but her voice is still annoying.

Sansa and Melisandre are both the more attractive redheads than
Ygritte IMO anyway.
