       1. Amazing Spider-man 2
       2. Amazing Spider-man
       3. Spider-man 2
       4. Spider-man
       5. Spider-man 3
The ASM series feels closer to Ultimate Spider-man than it does
the original 60's comics, and in general I feel Raimi screwed up
all the characters personalities anyway, and USM is my favorite
superhero comic ever. I can't wait to see what Webb does with
Mary Jane. Hopefully go with her ACTUAL characterization.

Ok, here's the weird thing, that despite my rankings I agree
with you. Outside of JJ Jameson, the characters aren't quite
right. Maguire's Parker is more nerd/dweeb without any of the
self confidence, sarcastic, Spidey that he's supposed to be, MJ
is a Gwen/MJ hybrid that doesn't quite fit and as a result turns
out wishy washy and boring. I don't even think you have to go to
Ultimate Spider-man to find correct characterizations. 60s Peter
Parker and 60s Mary Jane were bold enough characters to not
warrant the Maguire and Dunst portrayals but I'll give you that
Bendis' interpretation is a great modernization. Garfield feels
like Peter Parker to me, the cheesy quips, the one liners, the
sarcastic self confidence that's Spider-man. My issue is more
with the dialogue in ASM2 and Webb's direction, and for that
alone I think as a movie Spider-man 2 is the pinnacle of Spidey
       movies.

I actually never really had a problem with Maguire as Parker.
I'm also sort of sure that the third in the trilogy was kind of
a joint "fuck you" by both Raimi and Maguire to Sony. Doesn't
excuse how awful it was, but I think that was sort of by design.
