Ugh. I was praying the Adam Driver rumors weren't true, and I
was hoping for at least a few women, jesus would it kill them to
put some more ****s in space?
I know I'll see it in theaters but I also don't want to, I
almost feel like I'm forcing myself to see it.

Yeah I was kinda surprised that Lupita wasn't cast. Never even
heard of Daisy Ridley.

I wonder if she was up for the role that Daisy Whatsherface got
....
Since they released that they weren't following the EU it's hard
to ascertain what/who these people are even playing.

I really have nearly zero problems with this cast. Adam Driver
and Oscar Isaac in particular excite me.

I didn't think about it until someone mentioned it but John
Boyega could probably play Lando's son or some relative of his.
I know Adam Driver is the villain, but I'm not sure who people
like Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, and Domnhall Gleeson could play.
Maybe Gleeson is the son of Luke or Han, and Daisy Ridley is a
daughter.

I'm pretty happy with the cast, mostly because I don't really
know any of them so the movie should feel really fresh.
Apparently they're announcing another female character soon, I'm
surprised the cast is so small actually.

I'm particularly excited about Max von Sydow. Overall, I can't
complain about the casting. Not sure how I feel about Adam
Driver.
Although I do agree that space does seem pretty vag-deficient.

I don't know why everyone assumes the new cast is supposed to be
related to the OT cast. That's EU stuff and they've said they're
not doing EU but may pull small things from it.
Given their roles in the rebellion, Han ends the movie as a
general FFS, any up and coming young person would or could
associate with them whether they're a Jedi/Padawan, senator,
Sith, etc. I suppose it'd be formulaic to follow the Skywalker
clan but I don't think it's going to be 100% family ties
(although I agree that Daisy whatsherface is a Solo based on her
resemblance to Fisher and Portman).
