Possible name change for There and Back Again
By: Fawkes Date: April 16, 2014, 7:18 pm

TORN is reporting on a rumor that the subtitle of the third
Hobbit film might be changed from "There and Back Again" to
"Into the Fire". This is only a rumor, but it could turn out to
       be true.
Personally, I hope it's just BS. There and Back Again just
works better as a title. First of all, I like the nostalgia
factor with that being what Bilbo titles his book. Also, I feel
like "Into the Fire" would have been a name to replace
       "Desolation of Smaug" if anything.

Well, it has now been officially changed to "The Hobbit: The
       Battle of the Five Armies."

Yeah, I'm not particularly thrilled with that one either. I
mean, it isn't bad, but it's only one event in a film that will
have a lot going on. Plus, as I said, I feel like There And
Back Again just works very well.
But I will say that I don't feel that this was fully Peter
Jackson's decision, despite him making the announcement. I feel
like the studio pushed for a more exciting title purely because
this is the last Middle-Earth film it seems like we'll get (I'd
love to have the Silmarillion, but it probably won't happen) and
they're looking to make as much money as possible.

I assume the Battle of Five Armies is going to be greatly
expanded in these movies, to at least an hour-hour and a half to
make it more of a focus. There's really not much book left at
       this point.

I think Jackson is trying to outdo himself by creating a bigger
spectacle than the Battle of Pelennor Fields in ROTK. Though it
would be very hard to top that.

It can be the biggest CGI battle ever and it wouldn't make a
difference, because unlike LOTR, I don't give a shit about any
of the characters in these movies.

Sorry for being later to the party...

Agreed. I just don't care about any of the characters in "The
Hobbit" as much as I care about characters in "The Lord of The
       Rings".
I also think the Hobbit movies suffer from being stretched out.
I have for the most part 'enjoyed' the movies, but it doesn't
even come close to the LoTR movies.
