Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Just got back from seeing it. Thought it was okay. There was a
quick Stephen Strange name drop that made me smile.

I saw it a few days ago and really loved it. I know the Marvel
movies aren't the most amazing movies ever made but I find them
really entertaining which is all I really expect from them so I
was satisfied.

^Exactly. Thats all I really ask for when I go to see a
Super-Hero/Comic Book movie. It was definitely entertaining and
I really liked Winter Soldier, but I wasn't blown away by it.
Marvel really does do an amazing job at name drops and easter
eggs though.

I thought it was awesome. Up there with the first Iron Man and
The Avengers. I like how it continues from both Avengers and The
First Avenger. It had some pretty excellent action scenes and
some cool twists. And that mid-credits scene got me excited.

That middle scene confused me..
aren't Quicksilver and
Scarlett Witch supposed to be in the new X-men movie too?? I
thought Fox had all the rights for Marvel mutants..

Quicksilver is in Days of Future Past played by Evan
Peters, but his character arc in Age of Ultron with Aaron
Taylor-Johnson is different and they won't make the connection.
And my friend pointed out that it's gonna be tough to mention
that Magneto is his and Scarlet Witch's dad.

Yeah I looked up the actors and saw they weren't the
same I just didn't think that Disney could use any X-Men
characters but I guess they are allowed to with those two as
long as they don't make the connection to X-Men.

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch have just as much history
with The Avengers as they do with the X-men. This caused some
loophole where they can be used by Marvel Studios, but the word
"mutant" and anything related can't be mentioned. I guess it
looks like they're going with the word "miracles" in the MCU.
Besides, I haven't seen the scene yet, but isn't it implied
Baron von Strucker somehow gave them powers using Loki's
scepter?

but can't the same thing be said about Spiderman or
some of the other X-Men characters? - Yes it is implied that
they weren't born with their powers but I can't remember if it
was Loki's scepter that was used

I didn't catch on that Von Strucker used the scepter on
them. They do have Loki's scepter and are performing experiments
with it, but I didn't think HYDRA was using it on Pietro and
Wanda. I also liked the after-credits scene for this, because
unlike the ones at the end of Avengers, Iron Man 3, and Thor 2,
it's not a comic relief moment and it hints at more things to
come.
