Are they still using the same sh-tty ass system as last year?
One day I'll bloody get to CC, as well as KCon. I could probably
knock them both out on a cool summer trip to Cali.

It was a little different but I think totally unfair.
You got a pre-registration code the day before the site went
live. So you had to login w/ your info and code to get into the
waiting room. The waiting room opened at 10am and the site went
live and started letting people in to buy badges at noon. But it
wasn't first come/first serve. So even though I logged into the
waiting room at 10 on the dot some asswipe that logged in at
11:59 could hypothetically be in front of me in line. They
randomly sorted everyone in line and never showed you your
actual place so the whole time you're waiting to buy tickets you
don't know if you're 5th in line or 2nd to last. It sucked. My
husband and I both had our computers running trying to get
badges and neither one of us got in. I know the servers crashed
last year because people swarmed when it was first come first
serve but it blows. I just think some of the rules are shady.
Like, you can buy up to 3 badges including yourself, but if
someone already purchased a ticket for you and you still got to
the actual purchase page you're allowed to buy 3 badges for 3
other people. Once a badge is purchased in your name you should
be ineligible to buy any type of badge. Also, I think given the
amount of people that attempt to go to SDCC they should do away
with the preferential treatment for last years con attendees...
like, everyone wants to go, just because you got lucky last year
that shouldn't mean you get priority for next year. It's not a
small con any more, it's a huge event that spans several
industries. Ideally I wanted Thur/Fri/Sat badges. So we'd have
time to check out the exhibit hall and the smaller panels and
then pick one day to just camp out for Hall H. One day I'll get
there.
Obviously, if I knew we were so far back in line there was no
hope of getting badges I wouldn't have spent 3 hours watching my
computer screen. We're going to try when they do the resale in a
few months but I'm super disappointed. I guess if we don't make
it this year we'll try again in 2015. It would have been a cool
vacation, like half the week at comic con and half the week just
in socal.

I've been wanting to go to Comic Con for ages. Between the
crappy purchasing system and random things popping up, I haven't
been able to go. I'm hoping I can at least grab some tickets in
one of the last years of Game of Thrones. This year's Comic Con
should be awesome.

Comic-con is too much of a hassle to got to, but I am going to
Mega-Con in Orlando this weekend. I'm gonna get there really
early and try to see James Marsters before there's a big line.
And most of the cast of Torchwood will be there as well, so
hopefully I can at least see Barrowman.

What's Mega-Con like? I don't live so far from Orlando and have
considered going to Mega-Con.

Mega-Cone was pretty cool. I spent most of the day in lines
waiting to meet people. I got to meet James Marsters (and hug
him as well!), Eliza Dusku, Manu Bennet, most of the cast of
Torchwood and a good chunk of the cast of Smallville.
