Her

So this is only the second nominee I've seen this year (Gravity
being the other). I'll hopefully see more before the ceremony
but it's hard to get out of the house with a puppy. I really
enjoyed it and am wondering what everyone else thought about it.
It's definitely a movie I'd want to own and watch repeatedly...
I'm too tired to write anything else, someone else jump in.

Me and my brother is planning to spend February watching all the
movies in every category this year. I've downloaded most of them
since some won't hit the cinemas here before after the Oscar
show.
'Her' looks really good and I'm really looking forward to seeing
it.

Not a fan of Spike Jonze but this one looks interesting so I
might see it, plus I like Joaquin Phoenix.

It's my favorite film of 2013. It moved me and stirred up my
emotions big time.

I loved Her. I thought on every level it was a fantastic,
understated, emotional movie. The acting, directing, writing,
production design, cinematography, etc were all fantastic. I
really loved everything about it including the story. At this
point I've seen 6/9 BP nominees and I'd say Her is my favorite.
(Although, similarly 12 Years a Slave is amazing on every level
as well, but to the Nth degree considering its subject matter
and intensity and the fact that it was filmed in like a month
with one camera. Which is all crazy impressive and for which it
is the award frontrunner).
But Her is right up my ally because I loved its inventiveness,
quirk, heart, and concept. I especially love it as a sort of
companion piece or answer to Coppola's Lost in Translation. I
just felt like it was so personal to Spike Jonze and I felt like
it came from a very intimate place which seemed to elevate the
film for me. I could watch it over and over again. Even the
ridiculous sex scene. And especially the Kristen Wiig scene.
But if those high waisted pants are in our future, I feel so bad
for our children.

Arcade Fire's Supersymmetry makes so much more sense after
watching this film.

I loved the film. It's probably one of my top 3 films of the
year. At this point, I think it might win Best Original
Screenplay and maybe Best Score (the music was gorgeous).
For some reason, it reminded me a lot of Eternal Sunshine of a
Spotless Mind (one of my favorite films).
