I haven't seen Nebraska and Dallas Buyers Club but from the
other three, I'd definitely oust Bale. Now, I'm a big Bale fan
in general and I thought he was good in American Hustle, but
certainly not Oscar worthy and most certainly not over Tom
       Hanks.

Rush was completely snubbed and I felt it was one of the best
movies of the year. It atleast deserved a nom for Bruhl and a
few in technical categories like sound. It's sad when deserving
films are ignored and mediocre ones like Great Gatsby and Lone
       Ranger get nominations.
Greengrass and Hanks snubs are another surprise. I felt that
both, atleast Greengrass in particular, deserved a nom.
The sudden love for Russel films surprises me. He was
practically ignored till the Fighter and now his films are
always the heavyweights in the race. This is the second time in
a row where his film got all 4 acting categories, director as
well as BP. I'm kinda hoping that 12 years manages to upset
       Hustle atlaest in acting categories.
Amongst the actors, I'm happy for Bale and McConaughey getting
their first best actor (especially McConaughey for his first
Oscar nom after over 2 decades of acting). Hill's nomination was
another pleasant surprise since I felt he was genuinely good in
Wolf and totally deserved it. Actresses is another matter
entirely, Streep manages another nomination (20th I think). Why
Adams and Lawrence get nominated for every role is a mystery. I
mean they are good and everything but still...
Gravity was more or less expected since the film is truly a
breakthrough and will sweep all the technical awards
singlehandedly. As for Foreign language, glad the Hunt is there
and I'm certain it will win the award.

I've already expressed my indifference toward American Hustle,
so I don't think it deserves so much love, and neither does
Lawrence or Russell. Other than that, I'm upset that Idris Elba
and Daniel Bruhl got snubbed for Actor and Supporting Actor,
respectively. Though I honestly wouldn't oust either of the
nominees in those categories. I haven't seen Nebraska yet, so I
can't comment on that one. I'm afraid Frozen won't win Best
Animated Feature over Miyazaki's latest, nor do I think it'll
get Best Song, though I'd be pretty psyched if it got both. And
I can't help but laugh at Lone Survivor getting two nominations
thanks to it's qualifying run last month.

I still haven't seen American Hustle (I'm really slacking this
year), and not that it needs any more nominations, but it
getting snubbed in the Makeup and Hairstyling category is crazy
       to me. (Bad Grandpa?! Seriously!?)
So far I've only seen 4 of the 9 BPs (I'm seeing a 5th one
tonight) so I really need to up my game before I can properly
judge who deserves what and who was snubbed. That being said:
-I'm always glad when Leo gets some recognition. I had a feeling
Hill would get a nomination too.
-I love how Gravity has like the most nominations, but got
totally iced out of the screenplay category (deservedly so).
-So far, from what I've seen, I'm hoping 12 Years a Slave does
well even though the actors from Dallas Buyers Club are sure to
win in their categories (even though I'd love a Fassbender win
because Fassy was cray, Jared Leto was really great).
-But I'm really surprised Dallas Buyers Club got a BP
nomination. Not that it was a bad movie. I just thought that
       Inside Llewyn Davis/Saving Mr Banks/The Butler/Fruitvale Station
would have gotten a nomination over it.
As for Frozen, I might legit cry if it loses in its categories.

I found the Gravity script. It's hilarious.
