Extended edition?

Does anyone think we'll ever actually get a legit director's cut
of this film? Didn't Yates axe like 30-45 minutes from it, or
something?

Probably, when they decide they want more $$ and are ready to
release a new edition for fans to buy.
At least, I hope so.

I'm cool with an extended edition. Actually, I'd be ecstatic if
one ever came out, but I also really love it how it is. I find
myself enjoying Order of the Phoenix the more I watch it. It's
my favorite book, but I didn't mind how much they left out.
Although Harry losing his shit would've been fantastic to see,
and Dan could've totally pulled it off, I know it. OotP is when
he really started coming into his own.

I'm pretty sure I read that they filmed it, but he couldn't do
it properly or something :-\
I would love an extended edition with all the stuff Patrick
found that he posted on IMDB

Really? Damn. So much for putting my faith in people. :P
I kid, I kid.
If they did film it, I still want to see it. Just to see if he
was really bad or what.

I think we will, but it won't be for a long time. Yates has
worked on these films for almost non-stop 4-5 years, I don't see
him revisiting it soon.
I actually like what we are given, but if it is given a few
extra minutes to breathe, it'll be perfect.
What I liked about the book, was because it was so long, you
were able to fully immerse yourself in the school and the
day-to-day lives of the wizarding world and that is why I reread
it the most I think.

Can you please provide a source? I am really interested to know
if this is really true. because I feel even as far back as POA
Dan
has been good with expressing anger..

I think Order of the Phoenix is the film that really needs an
extended version. But no, WB (I think) thought it was too long.
And asked Yates to make it shorter. I'm dying to see
Snape's Worst Memory, an extremely important scene. Also my
favourite chapter in the whole book.

I don't need no stinkin' extended version!
I actually think Order of the Phoenix has the best pacing of all
the Harry Potter films, in spite of some of Mark Day's more
sloppy transitions.
