I don't think Clarke or Dinklage have a shot. I really think
they should have pushed for Coster-Waldau and Fairley.

I saw Clarke got supporting and about choked. Just about any of
the other women would have been more deserving. And
Coster-Waldau was better than Dinklage this season.

I agree with both of those statements. Dinklage did great,
Coster-Waldau just stole the show. I really think Dinklage's
scenes with Shae suck.

I can't believe Emilia Clarke got nominated. Clearly they just
skimmed over who they thought was the 'main' character.
She's my least favourite actress on the show.
I'm bummed Nikolaj didn't get nominated, and Michelle Fairley
too.
I'm cool with Diana Rigg scoring a nomination, but if she can
get one why not the wonderful Charles Dance?
I wish they got a nomination in the way of music, also.

Coster-Waldau definitely deserved it over Dinklage

Yeah I agree that Fairley and Coster-Waldau were much more
deserving than Dinklage and Clarke, but any nomination is good
for the show so I'm still happy.
I'm more angry at the music not getting a nomination.

Apparently HBO didn't submit Coster-Waldau... but they did try
for Kit Harrington? I think Kit's fine but eh... he's too
passive. He's really going to have to step up his game when they
get to A Dance with Dragons.
I don't get the big deal about Michelle Fairley. In fact, I
actively dislike her in most scenes - but never mind. Personal
opinions aside, if I'm not mistaken, they don't actually base
these awards on an entire season do they? I think they only base
it on select episodes... so really even if they did watch "Rains
of Castamere," I don't see why they should nominate Fairley for
that because really, I know people love to champion Michelle
Fairley, but her only “big” moment of the season was in "Rains
of Castamere," and even then, only at the end of the episode.
Looking back, objectively, Clarke probably was the actress with
the most interesting material this season. Fairley stood in the
background frowning all season...which is, frankly, what she's
sort of done since season one. Honestly, it really comes down to
the simple fact that even if she was amazing in that one scene,
the writers simplified her character, cut down a lot of her
conflict and intrigue, and reduced her to background décor.
This is probably also why they did not submit Coster-Waldau for
a nomination... he was good the whole season but the only time
he really stood out was in the bathtub scene with Brienne
whereas, conversely, Peter Dinklage had the most consistently
interesting material to work with - and btw, that is something
that I don't understand. Dinklage is practically the lead actor
of this series now so why is he still considered supporting? Or
do they just consider anyone not named "Sean Bean" a supporting
actor? I think, to be fair to you guys, if Dinklage and Clarke
had been considered leading, then maybe there could have been a
chance for Walder-Costau or Fairley or hell even Kit to get in a
nom, but if even they're considered supporting, then surely
Fairley is just a glorified cameo, comparatively speaking.
Personally I think Lena Headey is the best of the actresses on
GoT, but again, she's got a smaller role than Clarke, so if
Clarke is considered supporting, there's obviously going to be
no nomination for her.

Exactly, I feel amongst all the actors, Dinklage and Heady have
consistently given good performance since S1. While they didn't
really have a standout scene in this season, they both performed
equally well. As for the remaining, I think Clarke's only good
bit of acting was the showdown at Astapor (although I don't
understand why people hate her so much). Coster-Waldau's only
good bit was bath conversation at Harrenhal and Fairley's only
good bit was at the conclusion of the red wedding. So it really
depends whether they are nominating them for performance in a
single episode or performance in the season as whole.
On a side note, I wish they show more love to Charles Dance. I
simply love to rewatch any scene which has him in it.
