Maester Aemon?

I just finished the part where Aemon died. Someone (Hermes I
think?) said that there is a theory that he isn't a real Targ
because of stuff he said, but what was that stuff? I haven't
noticed anything he said that could indicate he was
lying...plus, I really don't see why he'd lie to Jon about that.
He had nothing to gain by lying about being a Targaryen.

I haven't heard anything about that theory, I'm pretty sure
there's no doubt he's a Targ as he's even mentioned in the side
books of the series, but there could be some line of dialogue I
missed or something.

I am pretty sure Maester Aemon is a real Targaryen. That doesn't
mean there aren't fake ones in the books though...

Yeah I think the theory you're talking about is one about
someone else, I won't say who but I can see where you've got
your wires crossed as at this point I don't think you've come
across anything to suggest that they're not. It's not Aemon
though :)

Not my theory! Aemon's a Targaryen. I think he's wrong about the
prophecy, though. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?
