New animated series announced.

Disney (I suppose) announced a new animated series today titled
'Star Wars Rebels' set between Episodes III and IV from
Creators/Executive Producers Dave Filoni (Avatar: TLA, Star
Wars: The Clone Wars) and Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, The
Spectacular Spider-man, Young Justice).
It's a Weisman co-production, so history dictates it will be one
of the best cartoons ever, but will be prematurely canceled
after season 2.

Does anyone else kinda want a live-action series? I know there's
no point right now, with more movies coming out soon, but maybe
after. The series could pick up where the new movies leave off,
or better yet, it could go far into the future. Hopefully the
creators would ignore the book fanon and create their own
stories and characters.

This is great news! I always wanted them to move onto new eras
in the same style of the Clone Wars and this is the period of
time of Star Wars that I've been wanting to see expanded on.
Can't wait to see the quality of the animation, if it's equal to
what the last season of The Clone Wars was doing it's going to
be an impressive looking show.
I predict this series will use some of the scripts they had
written for the live-action series that would have been set in
this time. I was kind of looking forward to that one happening
at some point, a show set in the Star Wars universe in
live-action on a Game of Thrones type budget would have been
amazing, but this is still good.

You know what would be awesome but would never happen? A Game of
Thrones esque Star Wars live action series (or even mini
series). It wouldn't have to be as adult (ie nudity) as GoT but
that scale of production would be amazing for Star Wars, and I'd
watch the hell out of it.
