       The Crimson Horror

I've just watched it after getting in from a night out (it's
3.40am right now) so this may not make total sense:
I liked this episode. Good suspense, kept me interested in the
mystery, and as a northerner it was nice to see us on tv (even
if it was Yorkshire and not Lancashire, *boo hiss*) but again,
felt like 45 minutes wasn't anywhere near enough time to develop
this story properly and it made it feel rushed when it had
potential to be even better, I think it's yet another time a
two-parter would do it far more justice. I liked little things
like Thomas Thomas the boy good at directions (Tomtom is a
satnav brand here, idk if it's international) and a lot of
little digs at northern accents, I liked the return of Jenny,
Strax etc, and I liked the whole introduction without the Doctor
       and then finding him.
The preview for next week's episode looks cool, and that's the
one written by Neil Gaiman so I have good expectations for it :)
EDIT: I've now rewatched it, sober and more awake haha. I take
back my comments about the pacing, I actually think it was
really well paced I think I just missed bits because I was half
asleep. I liked the whole storyline but I thought the ending was
really cringey - for starters I don't think a 13 year old girl
would just happen across pictures of her nanny throughout time,
especially not classified pictures from inside a Soviet
submarine, and generally I thought it was a naff end and trying
to force the Clara issue again.
I wonder if Ada Gillyflower is going to show up again at some
point, seeing as she's now in with recurring characters, and
what they're going to do with her storyline because it has
       potential.
