Journey to the centre of the TARDIS

I liked this. Not perfect, but cool to see all the innards of
the TARDIS. I liked seeing the swimming pool and library, and it
was a nice touch for him to have a big telescope. Also the room
full of Amy/Rory/River's things was cool. The echos of
Eccleston's voice in the control room was also a cool touch -
was this just time spill or a hint at something more?
The 3 brothers storyline was interesting though I think a little
unnecessary at times - I think again this showed the issues with
not doing 2-parters this series and trying to cram a lot of
stuff into 45 minutes.
I was really impressed with Clara in this episode; I'm
definitely warming to her as a companion, and although I hate
her backstory stuff so far I thought that was handled quite well
in this episode with the Doctor's little freakout. Also she's
from my county which gives me a little bit of local pride :D
A few things I noted that I didn't get though:
- Why were the lavamen/future dead-them trying to kill them?
That didn't make any sense to me; the past echos couldn't even
hear them but the future them weren't just interacting with them
but inexplicably trying to kill them
- Did Clara actually see his name in a book in the library?
Because if it's such a big secret surely writing it down is mad.
Although maybe she just read mention that he calls himself the
Doctor but that's not his name
- Who even wrote 'The History of the Time War?'

I'm assuming she did see his name. There is supposed to be an
upcoming episode concerning it.

Yeah I rewatched that bit and she definitely says she saw it. So
again, I wonder why if it's such a big secret it's written in a
book? Seems a bit stupid to me :\
I'm still hoping it turns out to be something dreadful or
hilarious because there's no way after all this time it can be a
big reveal that he's someone else, so otherwise it's just going
to be a huge anti-climax.

I thought it was a cool episode, overall. I really like Clara. I
just feel like this half season is going nowhere with several
meh episodes in a row :-\
