I really enjoyed "Perks of Being a Wallflower"

Really well made and good acting throughout. I especially liked
Ezra Miller. I saw this won "Best First Feature" at the Spirit
Awards and certainly it's a really good movie for a first-time
writer/director (although it is based off his own novel).

Yeah I agree. I was surprised at how good it was. I knew I'd
probably like it on some level because I liked the book back in
high school, but I wasn't expecting much since Chbosky never
directed before. But yeah, it was really well done. It stuck
with me.

Yeah, I liked it too. And agreed, Ezra Miller was the best.

I loved it, and so far it's stood up to repeat viewings which is
great. Agree on Ezra Miller but I though Lerman was a great
Charlie (and much more likeable than his book counterpart). I
thought Emma was alright, not as good as Miller or Lerman but it
was a really great post HP film for her.

Yeah I was most blown away by Logan Lerman. I thought he was
fantastic. I was raving about him after first seeing it.
And that isn't to say Ezra Miller wasn't great, but I knew Ezra
Miller was perfectly capable of being great. (He gave such a
powerful performance in We Need to Talk About Kevin that his
performance, to me, isn't really ever in question. That kid
really has a ton of talent.) And I thought Emma was really good.
She kept up with the rest of them and had her moments. I forgot
about "Emma Watson" and "Hermione" which is more than enough.
And I'm really looking forward to what she does in the future.
Like I can't wait for Bling Ring and Noah. I'm not only curious
how she does, but just seeing her with great directors (who also
happen to be two of my favorites) and seeing what they bring out
in her. (Which is true of all the HP kids, but it just so
happens Emma has landed roles with bigger name directors....like
Seth Rogan...)

I thought there was a lot of controversy surrounding her role w/
Seth for End of the World. There was a rumor she dropped out
after a few scenes because she was uncomfortable with
nudity/sexual explicitness in one scene.
Anyway, I'm also looking forward to The Bling Ring. I love
Sophia Coppola so it's not necessarily Emma related. Back when
CoS came out my Mom said she thought Emma would have the most
success out of the trio, so as it is now she's totally right.
That's not putting Dan and Rupert down but Emma seems to be more
in demand than the boys.

I think Rupert's the only one who has more or less disappeared
off the map, which is what I expected would happen tbh. As for
Emma's future projects, I'm interested, but I don't like Darren
Aronofsky and I've only seen one Sofia Coppola movie which I
didn't like either so I'm not so sure about watching them...
maybe if her performance gets good reviews I might.
I thought Emma did fine though in the movie. I don't think she
had the best material out of the three, btw, to work with but
yeah, I liked her and definitely forgot all about Hermione, so
she has more range than first thought.

I liked the movie, it was quite decent though I really didn't
see the ending coming which was kinda shocking. Also, good
performances by Miller and Lerman.

Rupert has been doing lower key stuff. The Necessary Death of
Charlie Countryman made some rounds at film festivals. And he
has that CBGB movie coming out, that supposed Beach Boy movie,
and that TV pilot. But yeah, I feel like he's not as present as
Dan and Emma have been...
(Sorry I just derailed this Perks thread)

I think Rupert wants to chill out. A lot of child actors don't
want to be stars when they're adults.
He's probably relaxing with the millions he made after Potter,
buying cool shit to add to his ice-cream truck and pet pigs.
That's what I would do.
But I just watched Perks again today, and I also just read the
book. It's just a real honest story.
