Favourite line in the film.
Why, why did he have to die?

I prefered Gambon loads more than Harris.

I liked them both, but I think the things that made him charming
in the first two films would have made OOtP to the end hard on
him. It's hard to imagine the Dumbledore from the first film
doing the dueling scenes.

I think they are both brilliant Dumbledore's in their own ways,
e.g. Harris captures the kind and gentle, 'grandfather' side
(which was essentially all he was supposed to be in these two
films), whereas Gambon captures both the eccentric and 'badass
motherfucker' side.
I think as it went on Harris' Dumbledore would have shown more
depth, but he wasn't given that stuff to do in the first two.
I also think people exaggerate how physical the acting Gambon
did for the duel was, he pretty much just did a few fancy wrist
movements, whilst standing still and giving menacing stares, it
really wouldn't have exerted that much energy (or am I missing
something).

I don't doubt that Harris would have been awesome in later
films, but I have always preferred Gambon. He was just more
quirky and whimsical. Harris focused more on being a wise old
man, which Dumbledore definitely is, but it's not what
personally attracted me to the character.

That's true, but he also had to look like he had energy and be
badass to be convincing. Harris didn't look like that.
