Has anyone seen the animated Dark Knight Returns duology?

The second part came out a few days back and I watched both back
to back. I feel they are easily amongst the best animated films
on Batman along with Mask of Phantasm and Under Red Hood. The
storyline is very mature (but then so was the graphic novel),
and some scenes are quite violent especially for an animated
superhero movie. And the last showdown between Batman and
       Superman is totally awesome.

I loved it/them. Michael Emerson's performance was somewhat
subdued, but he's still probably the second best animated Joker
(John DiMaggio from UtRH being a close third). This totally
would have been rated R if the only difference was that it was
       live action.

I agree. The gore in the amusement park scene and the fight with
the chick with Nazi symbol on her boobs made me wonder if the
       film is indeed rated R.

I thought the first one was great, I've had the second part
downloaded for a few weeks but still haven't got around to
       watching it.

I just watched it, it was pretty fucking cool.
Seeing Superman at his douchiest was great as I've never really
liked Superman that much, and I got the Superman vs Batman fight
       I've wanted since I was a kid.
The scene with the Joker shooting the people in the carnival and
then all the couples on the boat ride was insane, if this had
been included in the live-action films there would be so much
controversy. Michael Emerson was also a great choice for this
       form of the Joker.
I would actually love for them to make a live-action version of
this story. Seeing all the superheros disbanded and way past
their prime is a really interesting idea and I'd like to see it
explored more. Maybe the Justice League movie could build up to
this happening in one of it's sequels, that'd be a pretty good
       idea I think.

Yep I always wanted to see Batman beat the crap out of Supes and
this movie delivered it in spades. I loved the bit when he says
"You're feeling it now aren't you? What the rest of us live with
every day, your own mortality. In all the years to come, in your
most private moments, I want you to remember the one man who
       beat you."
While I'd like a live version of this, I doubt it will happen
given the dark theme of the story though they can modify it for
a JL film. But as of now, I'm waiting for an animated 'The
Killing Joke' with Conroy and Hamill doing the voices.

Yeah some people complain that the voice actor for this Batman
was a little weak, but he nailed the delivery on that line.

What surprised me even more was when I later discovered that the
voice actor for Batman was Peter Weller, the original RoboCop.
