       Richard Gere is underrated

       I mean, I don't know how much people loved him as an actor back
       when he was real popular but you very rarely see anybody mention
       him nowadays. I just read through Richard Roeper's Oscar
       predictions and he has Richard Gere in the Best Actor Nominees
       for "Arbitrage" and he's like the first person doing such a list
       that I've seen mention him. He is a terrific actor and he was
       really good in "Arbitrage" (which I thought was an otherwise
       average movie) and I hope he gets a nom.
       Of course his performances in stuff like "Unfaithful" or "Days
       of Heaven" are forgettable, but even in a bad movie (say,
       "Internal Affiars"), when the writing rises to his level, he can
       be quite excellent.
