Holy shit, "True Blood"
By: Hermes_The_Exile Date: August 26, 2012, 10:26 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Holy shit.
Let me go back and look at my predictions.
1. Got this one right. All of the main players survived (in a
manner of speaking).
2. I missed Newlin surviving. It looks like he just ran off and
is still at large after Russell died. Speaking of, I think it
was pretty brilliant sleight of hand to tease a Russell-fairy
showdown and then kill Russell off before the credits even
opened. Genuinely surprising.
3. I said I thought Nora was 50/50. No risk-taking here.
4. Alcide's now set at leader of the Shreveport (?) pack, so he
did come into play but not in the main action.
5. Called this one fairly easily. I thought Bill might kill
Salome at the altar, but as soon as she pulled the blood out and
he didn't put up a fight, I figured it was poisoned. Oh, Bill.
6. I said it was hard to see Bill coming back from this, and
they apparently agreed and just ratcheted up his badness. I
gotta say, that surprised me. I thought he'd either get talked
down or (1% chance) be killed off. It honestly never occurred to
me that they'd end the season with him as a new Big Bad.
7. Missed this one. Didn't expect her to have the offspring
until next season. Now Andy's a single dad with four girls (I
think they're all girls?). I smell a sitcom.
8. More or less right. All they (Terry, Arlene and Lafayette)
did was observe.
9. Half-right about Warlow being a cliffhanger. Not a
cliffhanger in the main plot, but in the bonus scene, Jason says
he's "coming for" Warlow and Nora stops and asks him how he
knows Warlow.
10. Fucking werepanthers.
Big questions:
1. What the hell is Bill now?
2. Will they all still get out of the compound alive? Both
parties (vamp-human party and Sam-Luna-Emma party).
3. What's the deal with the fairies?
4. Will Alcide's wolf pack play any role in this?
5. Is Newlin done?
6. Is anyone out there NOT shipping Tara and Pam now?
7. How will the Warlow thing play out and tie into what happened
at the Authority?
8. Seriously, what the hell is Bill now?

What bonus scene?

That season finale was seriously awesome. Maybe my favorite one
of the series so far. I'm sorry, but I am LOVING that Bill is so
bad ass now. I was so scared that when Sookie walked in
everything would go back to rainbows and butterflys with them.
Thank God the COMPLETE opposite happened lol.
And yeah, what bonus scene? I watched until the end of the
credits but didn't see anything? Is it online or something?

Apparently it was only on HBO Go. I think EW.com has it up now?
It shows what happened when the elevator reached the top.

And Jason mentions that he can now kill Warlow or something and
Nora says "What about Warlow" and the show ends. It should have
been in the actual episode.

Hmm really? I'll have to check that out later.
Also, that Pam/Tara make out scene was so random. Sookie's
reaction was hilarious though. "Ooookay..."
I'm not sure I like that they have Jason now reverting back to
hating vampires a la season 2. I get that he hit his head and
now thinks he sees his parents and all that bullshit but it's
annoying. I think I dislike it mainly because I want him and
Jessica to be together. I'm lame lol.
And Andy now having 4 fairy daughters could either be hilarious
or ridiculous.

It was a fair episode, wasn't that much to write home about and
quite underwhelming to me, but that fairy birthscene was
hilarious and I can't wait to see the GIFs that are taken from
that scene.

The fairy birth scene and the commentary was pretty funny. I
think Andy with quadruplets could be entertaining.
I spoiled the whole Bill thing for myself, but I still wonder
what the heck he is and how this situation is going to be
handled. It's either kill him off or somehow have him become
"good" again, and at this point, I don't think he's ever going
to be able to redeem himself.
Am I the only one not liking Pam/Tara? I dunno, the kissing was
just so random. They seemed to have a good progenitor/progeny
relationship, and honestly, I never felt any sort of attraction
or chemistry between them. Jessica's question to Tara about her
liking Pam felt out of the blue to me, and so was the kiss.
I hope the writers give Lafayette something better to do next
season (it didn't really seem like he had much this season), and
that they keep Terry and Arlene in the background.

I don't see them ever (at least, not unless it's a series
finale) killing off Bill. I do wonder, though, how that dynamic
will work next season. Is Bill going to sire thousands of crazy
baby vamps? Is he powerful enough to to wreak worldwide havoc on
his own? Is he a deity?
Something tells me that season 6 will probably be it, just
because, depending on Bill's range of destruction, there might
not be anywhere else to go after that. I agree that he's
probably beyond redemption at this point, but on the other hand,
Moyer is still the male lead and I don't see the series
continuing without Bill, even if he's evil. So something's gotta
give there, and I think that something will probably be the
series itself. Which, though I love it, is fine with me. I think
it's getting long in the tooth.
And I agree about Terry and Arlene. I like both of them as
characters, but they should stay in the background. Maybe they
do deserve their own side plot, but that smoke demon wasn't it.
