Post any hints, links to other books or foreshadowing that you
see in SS. - check out the parallels article in HP Miscellany
       that Hermes wrote for ideas
       (

Does the appearance of Griphook count? I guess pretty much all
of the Gringotts stuff can be foreshadowing (you'd be mad to try
and rob it, etc.). I can't really think of anything else at the
       moment.
       Also, I love your signature.

Yeah, I like that Griphook came back in DH to sort of complete
that match up between SS and DH. You've also got Sirius' flying
motorcycle, Dedalus Diggle being spotted by Uncle Vernon
(shooting stars over Kent as well) for obvious ones.
       Thanks!

Grindelwald mentioned on the back of Dumbledore's chocolate frog
card is a big one for me.
Not really foreshadowing, but Charlie and the dragons do come
back into play in GoF. Same thing with the centaurs/Firenze in
       OotP.

What about the mention of Harry running away from Dudley and the
gang at school and ending up on the school roof. Foreshadowing
       for Apparating?

That's a good one! I always imagine Harry as sort of levitating
or staying airborne longer than normal. But thats still an
       interesting one...
Another one could maybe be tied to Harry's scar hurting...

When Harry is ranting about if Voldemort took over Hogwarts is
very accurate. He said he'd flatten it or turn it into a Dark
Arts school and that's exactly what happened

Just got my book this weekend. It's falling/fallen apart. Much
tape has been used and now I can join in!
In our first description of Dumbledore, we get that "his nose
was very long and crooked, as though it had been broken at least
twice." I think it's cool because it's very much later when we
find out why his nose is crooked.

Ooh, that's a good one! I wonder how much JKR had planned out
years in advance and how much was just re-reading the earlier
books and thinking "hey, I could use this somehow!"? I mean,
that's pretty impressive if she was thinking "and I am writing
about his nose looking crooked because at _some point_ I'll talk
about how Dumbledore had this gay lover and he wanted to take
over the world with him but it was hard to do that because he
was also having to take care of his family because his dad got
sent to Azkaban for harming these muggles who did something to
his little sister, which made her all cray cray and then she
eventually dies and at her funeral he will be punched in his
face by his very own brother!" while she writing SS all those
       years ago. :D

Haha, it definitely would be impressive because it seems like
       such a miniscule detail.
I just read the Sorting, which has led me to believe she had big
plans for Neville from the very beginning. I mean, we see him
having lost his toad, being nervous, and falling down in front
of everyone on the way to be sorted. I'm sure this shouted,
"Hufflepuff" to a lot of people (not that I think those things
are typical of Hufflepuffs, I'm a big believer in Hufflepuff not
being the "leftover" house, I'm a Hufflepuff, but I digress).
Yet the Sorting Hat took a long time to decide with Neville --a
sign of complexity-- and put him in Gryffindor. I think from
this point we could expect big things from him, and not just the
" it takes a great deal more courage to stand up for your
friends" thing. The slicing Nagini's head off with the effing
       Sword of Gryffindor thing.
